BF is working on Thanksgiving, not sure if we will be attending family dinners or not.

If not, then a friend and I have plans to cook up an excellent TG dinner for a few close friends. It will be my first time. Is it weird that I would almost rather make it all myself than have another chef in the kitchen?

    This may end bloodily...

I will brine a turkey and roast it with lots of veg the drippings of which we will turn into a white wine gravy.
we will have tons of sides: potatoes mashed with heavy cream and real butter.
glazed carrots made with stock and a touch of sugar.
fresh green beans cooked soft then reheated in real butter.
one cube style stuffing made from scratch with homemade stock, light herbs, celery, onion, walnuts.
one crumb style stuffing made heavy with sage.
homemade bread, sourdough, traditional wheat rolls and rosemary loafs.
cranberry sauce, also from scratch with a hint of orange
(we may add a cranberry risotto this year)

We also lay out a pre meal spread of cheese that would make a French native happy, with a variety of veg, spreads and 3 variety of deviled eggs.

It might be strange but we don't make dessert. I ask the guest to bring it. They usually just buy a pie in the freezer section so frankly I don't even bother with it; the food snob in me figures if I work that hard to cook the least they could do is make one failing that buy one in the bakery not the thaw and serve BS.
