So i've been really trying my hardest with my weight loss in the last few weeks; i've upped my game at the gym, changing my routine, upping the inclines, levels and speeds and spending alot more time on weights, where i would last 40mins at the gym i've been managing 75mins.
I'm eating 1200 cals a day, sometimes over, but still healthy fruit, veg's protein etc, i'm not binging on cakes and chocolate.
I weighed myself today and i have gone up 5lbs since last week, the word gutted is an understatement.
has anyone else had this problem? if so, what did you do for the weight to fall off? i'm 143lbs today and my goal weight is 126lbs so i still have some time to go.
thanks!

Before anyone says it is, its not 'muscle' youve gained from exercising. So now thats out the way.
Could be anything, could be youre not eating enough, could be water weight. Take measurements, dont obsess over the scale.0 -
If you've recently changed your gym routine, it is most likely your muscles retaining water to cushion and repair themselves since they are not used to this new workout yet. Here's a great article that explains why this happens:

Ditch the scale! It's a misleading LIAR!
When I was in college I was 150 lbs. I had double biceps, a six pack, and I could do 20 pullups. I wore a size zero.
I'm still 150 pounds. I don't have double biceps, a six pack, and I can't do a pull up. I'm between a size 6 and an 8.
Which 150 pound girl do you think I'd rather be?? I'm busting my but to get back to the fit one. My weight really hasn't changed but I can see lots of change in my progress photos. That's what keeps me going.0 -
I can totally relate. I have been on weight watchers for 5 weeks and have lost nothing! I work out at least 4x/week and I cannot get the scale to do anything but go up! So now I am tracking calories and my points.....can we say obsessive!!!! I would JUST like to lose about 10 pounds......help! Plus, when I was finished tracking yesterday the MFP said I would be 5 pounds heavier in 5 weeks than when I started! ????? I thought when you exercised you needed to replenish the calories gained????0

I had a time where i couldn't lose weight I had changed my routine and still no weight loss. This helped me out a lot and I was able to drop a bunch of weight eat some more green veggies/herbs in your salad like spinach, baby greens mix, kale, romaine lettuce, water cress, basil, olives, celery, broccoli ect all of these veggies are bitter which in turn helps sooth your stomach. The bitter your greens the more saliva your body makes, what this does is that it helps you to clean up whatever is inside your stomach. I did it for a month this past summer and I dropped about 10 lbs (160 down to 148) and still been able to to keep it down hope that helps.
Another factor could be because your thyroid gland it's located in the front part of your neck, this maybe taxed out from too much exercise, pre-workout supplements 1 day energy, hydroxycut, Xenadrine ect, also from stress either person life, work, kids, ect... Your thyroid is responsible your metabolism, your internal temperature how hot or cold, communicating with the brain, testes and ovaries and other bodily functions. If so just take a week off from working out let yourself recharge your batteries and then go back to it again. I do this every few months. Hope that helps0 -
Water weight is a b!tch and so is TOM.0
