I wash and condition my merkin...
Don't condition too often. That'll cause nasty buildup.
  • My hubby has a beard and I love it. He washes it not sure about the conditioner though. He combs the crap out of it, takes his comb with him everywhere. Men look like men with beards. Thumbs up to all you men with beards.

Shampoo mine and let it fly through out the day. Even when I get off the motorcycle its all good. My dog loves me after meals like rips or soup. I'm a messy eater anyway so there is always leftovers.

As I am currently still a member of the Military I can't have a beard. But I will be retiring within the next year so I will have a beard and will shampoo and comb regularly.

I keep mine trimmed short and wash/condition every time I do my scalp. Why not? It's right there. Boar bristle brush daily keeps the scalp and face exfoliated and healthy. Can't let it get scratchy, don't want any complaints when you kiss your best girl...

My man has a beard. When he washes his face in the shower with his body soap, he'll wash his beard, too. But shampoo/conditioner? Pffffft. I love his ruggedness. Conditioned, perfumed beard does not scream "manly" to me. No thanks.

Perfumed? Who brought up perfume? I have to shampoo my beard, otherwise I get beard dandruff, and I'd rather not have my chest covered in white flakes thankyouverymuch. :smokin:

Many shampoos have scents. Scented = perfumed. Which...ugh. To each his own. Guess my man's lucky

Most body soaps are scented to. My shampoo isn't really scented. It has aloe vera in it, but it doesn't smell like some fruit or bean.
  • Shampoo and shave it every morning. Carry a comb, too, because when I get off my motorcycle, I need to comb it out.

    Bugs?

Maybe you've gotten used to the light/clean scent of his beard?

I condition mine a few times a week and comb it multiple times during the day. I think you have to if you want to keep it on the longer side, otherwise it gets out of control.

My man has one...never seen him without it...but since I've only known him since June I guess that isn't all that weird. I do think he'd think I was strange if I asked him if he washes it...hmmm

lol my ex bf of 8 years had a beard a mix between sadaam hussein and osama bin laden, and ive never once seen him shampoo/condition or brush it! loool I've never thought of that hmm thats kinda smart. :D

Unfortunately, my husband has a little too much BEARD PRIDE lately. He's gone totally out of control. He says he's preparing for the ski season but I think he's starting to look like a crazed serial killer - which is a shame, because he's absolutely gorgeous under there. Pretty soon I will out-class him and it just won't look right.

To answer your question, he just washes his beard like the rest of his face. No combing occurs.
