I get 1310 calories for a day. How would you separate it out for best results between meals and snacks? Plus how far apart between each. Trying to figure out some ideas that might help me even more. Thank you!

  • How often do you eat between meals and snacks? Also how many meals do you eat throughout the day :)

I've been trying to do 5 a day. I do 4 200 calories(basically) and then 510 calorie dinner. I'm not sure if I'm putting them all the right spots though. I have seen some people mention about needing more in mornings? Not sure exactly whats true.. Try to do 2-3 hrs apart also try not to eat after dinner, but sometime I miss snack and do it after

I would base your meal partitioning entirely on personal preference and performance in exercise. Focus on what will make it easiest for you to stick to.

The differences in terms of weight loss when comparing differing meal frequencies are negligible.
EDIT: Also, eating before bed is completely fine if you aren't over-eating for the day in total.

I usually eat four times a day. 1200 cals minimum more on days I work out.
    9ish Breakfast 200-300
    12ish Lunch 200-400
    6ish Dinner 300-600
    8ish Snack 200-400

I rarely eat before 9am and I always eat after 7pm.

Thank you all for your thoughts =) I usually workout in the evening because it's easier with my husband being able to help out with our boys. I have no excuses that way.

I have 1800 to spend, so a little different than you, but I like to eat lighter for bfast and lunch, and then have a giant dinner. I usually do about 300 for breakfast, 400 for lunch, a 100 snack, and then that leaves me with 1000 for dinner and dessert/snacks late at night when I get the most munchies. But, do what works for you. Timing of calories is irrelevant.

I have 1460 calories for the day. I do 200 for breakfast, 300 for lunch and 400 for dinner, and that leaves 560 for snacking. I'm a big snacker and I like to have at least 400 calories for after dinner. Just set it up however it will work for you.

This is entirely up to you. Whatever feels best. For me, I try to eat conservatively throughout the day so I can eat big at night. Your preferences may be totally different.

Eat roughly 5 times a day...3 'meals' 2 'snacks' and place them roughly 3 hours apart. 7, 10, 1, 4, and 7 should be fine. Plan your largest meals either right before or right after you work out.

Do what works for you. Time of day and frequency really doesn't matter as much as people think.
