MFP members, need ur opinion, been working out with insanity, supreme 90 (same as p90) and am about to do tapout xt in a month. I do want to lose more pounds. I am currently at 215 lbs and start weight was 270lbs. I also want to keep and gain muscles. from what I have heard is that if I do a lot of cardio it will help me lose lbs and tone muscles. But I also want to build muscles and not want to lose my hard worked muscles. Is it a good idea for me to shoot for 160-170 lbs and work on going to 200lbs afterwards (but muscles)? really need advice?

Hi
This nice guy --> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/792213-should-i-be-bulking-or-cutting-little-help-please
had a similar situation as you. He has decided to cut,and then build up from there.0 -
Do both. Something like 2-3 weights & 1-2 cardio sessions (more if you can/want to) so that you continue building and maintaining muscle mass while burning fat.0

i do both 20-40 mins of cardio and 15-30 mins of weights, 5-6 days a week0

First of all, awesome tummy you got there xD
I personally exercise 5-6 days a week currently doing 4 days of weights for 60-90 minutes per session + 2 HIIT sessions on non-lifting days0 -
why does it have to be either or, all or nothing?
do both0 -
Martial arts, weights, HIIT and cardio... in order that order0

Both. One is not better than the other.0

Whats your body fat? If you don't know it, you should because you may not be able to get to your weight goal without losing weight. If you know how much lean body mass you have, then you can determine your weight goal. More on that below. But I say do both cardio and weight training. You can do a P90/Insanity hybrid or do Tapout.

I personally like doing something that incorporates both. I like doing interval training.0
