Most Common Excuses NOT To Exercise or Eat Healthy

I think the "I want to enjoy my life" one is the one I hear the most. Which is dumb for a lot of reasons, especially because I enjoy my life way more now that I eat well and exercise.0
-
I want to enjoy my life and not starve myself and eat celery like you.
I don't have time.
I'll start next week.
I know how to lose weight. When I'm ready, I'll get started.
I don't like the way the trainer made me do hard exercises that made me sweat and exert myself.
I'm happy with my body. (despite all the physical ailments they may be experiencing)0 -
I don't buy the groceries
I can't cook, Someone else cooks.
for me, my #1 reason in not exercising was always "I will do it later" LOL0 -
Can't afford gym membership/equipment.
Too much to do/ too busy
You try with kids (or "kids are my workout" or etc)
or just...
I can't.0 -
The most common excuses when I invite my friends to the gym are:
1) Don't have time today--- make time! A 1 hour workout is only 4% of your day!
2) No childcare--- in their defense, the gym I go to has pretty crappy daycare hours
3) Too much homework/housework/etc.--- see #1. Also, time management!
4) Too expensive--- membership fees, etc.
5) Embarassed to work out in front of strangers
6) Too sore from previous workout0 -
"It's too hard." (my hubby uses this one)
"Dinner is taking too long" (again his for wanting fast food)
Ones I have used:
The too hot and cold
I am too busy
I am tired and want sleep
Homework
Work
I am fine....
My asthma is kicking in
Why bother?
I finally decided to get off my butt and do something about it. Just wish i wasn't the only one in the house.0 -
-Don't have time to exercise
-Too tired to exercise
-"healthy food doesn't taste as good"0 -
i'll give you mine:
"i have a ton of homework"
"i don't feel like it"
"i'm really tired"
"it's so late if i exercise and shower after my hair won't ever get dry"
"i don't have anyone to work out with"
it's sad, but we all have our excuses0 -
My old favorite excuse was "I don't have time!" I never could seem to find time... funny how you all of a sudden have time for other things that come up. I work out at least 6 hours per week now and I still work, I didn't lose a kid or husband and I didn't gain a maid... I MADE time for it because it became a priority.0
-
I forgot where I read it but it said "If you can name anyone on "American Idol" you have time to work out"
Its true... I work 50+ hours a week but still find time for 6-8 hours of gym time a week.0 -
Haha all of these are good ones!
Mine might be a bit different.. One excuse I've used is: "but if I start exercising and breathing heavy, I'll have an asthma attack and have to stop, so what's the point?"0 -
Someone said to me
I read/heard that the heart can only beat so many beats per lifetime, so why push it by making it beat more quickly?0 -
Too tired
Dont have time0 -
"I'm a terrible cook."
"I know I'm probably not eating the best food, but I don't know what I should be eating."
"I just couldn't get to the grocery store this weekend."
"You wake up WHEN to go work out? There is no WAY I could do that."
"You have time to work out at night, too? You must be rich/single/childless."
"You walk to that restaurant from the office? There are so many hills! I would die."
"I didn't bring any sneakers to work today, so I guess I'll just have to drive to the restaurant - I'll meet you there." Or if they want to make you complicit to their choice - "You can just ride with me."
"My husband needed my help and I couldn't go work out." AKA, the revolving miscellaneous excuse. "My cat was sick yesterday and I wanted to keep on eye on him tonight to make sure he didn't get worse." "It was too hot, I was afraid of heat stroke." "I got a phone call from a friend I hadn't talked to in so long..." Etc.0 -
" I am lazy" period lol. That's why I gained so much. I just became a lazy *kitten*!0
-
"I'm always tired". . . while they're stuffing their face with processed food and chugging soda.0
-
I have 2:
I just don't feel like it.
Ill do it tomorrow.0 -
"I don't have time!" is an adult version of, "the dog ate my homework!" What it boils down to is laziness! I work a full time job, have two kids, and a husband, and a home to tend to! I go to the gym no less than five days a week, most of the time I go six! There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE in my book! And as far as eating healthy there is no excuses where that is concerned either!0
-
My former excuses:
I'm too tired
I didn't eat that much today so...I don't have to work out
I'm only going to live once, so eat and enjoy0 -
Exercise.... If I have make up on, and my hair is done... I don't want to get sweaty and have to take a shower -- so then I say no to working out.
Eating healthy... I sometimes tell myself I don't want to waste a certain food/left overs... so I put off eating healthy, and eat junk in the house.0 -
today a friend of mine told me she "forgot"0
-
I will go with you to the gym, when I don't have anything else to do!0
-
I always tell myself that it's too cold out in the garage (where my equipment is), but I suck it up and go anyway!
Most common excuse other than it's cold that I hear is I don't have time.0 -
Sometimes, I won't exercise if it's raining. ...long story how that habit started. Lol.0
-
sportsbra in the washing
having a nap instead
scared to make small aches worse
tired
depressed
i have many lol0 -
The seam on my sock is digging into my foot and I will get a blister.0
-
I can't loose weight because I am on the pill! (Birth control pill) It makes me hungrier and holds weight!0
-
"I don't have time" or "it's too hard, I can't do it"0
-
All the clothes I own for the gym don't fit me anymore!0
-
its the holidays0
