Sorry, not in this age group. Only advice I can offer is to not let your age be an excuse, always train hard and always strive to hit your calorie goal. Best of luck!
I disagree 100% - the aches and pains are worse because you're probably more out of shape than you were when you were younger. I'm not saying that to be mean at all, but age really is an excuse in my honest opintion. It's simply easier the more active you are. There are multiple studies on this - the more out of shape you are, the easier it is to get more out of shape... the more in shape you are, the harder it is to gain fat. It all comes down to activity... diet is a big part of it, but I know dozens of people in their 50s and 60s who are triathletes and in better shape than they were in their 20s and 30s. I'm not in that 50-60 year age category, but I'm definitely more fit and healthy now than when I was in my teens and 20s, without a doubt.0 -

My motivation was turning 40 in November. I love this site and the support is fantastic. I love the encouragement and being able to see my calories consumed vs calorie burned, it really motivates me! Good luck! :-)0

Hi guys, i'm just beginning to discover this awesome mfp community! i'm new to mfp and just signed up recently. Not really sure where/what this app would mean to me but so far so good. Its helping me be more concious about what i eat and really keeping me in check. Its also helpful in getting me more motivated to train. Metabolism being 38y/o is so difficult to kickstart but im persistent. The typical problem areas (abs/love handles) are the hardest get rid of. Looking for people to motivate me on my fitness journey. Cheers.
Hi. Despite the fact that you are a Cal fan, I'd be willing to help with the motivation too. I think this is a team effort and no one can do it alone. I'm knocking on the door to 40, but in denial about my age. LOL Feel free to add me, if you like.0 -

I am 38 now and training to enter the Navy. Ouch, yes at my age and I am almost at my goal to enter as an Officer. It is hard, and I have had to sacrifice but it can be down. Keep up the great work and get where you need to be. And remember to take it slow.0

Just turned 38 on November 1st. Getting used to new lifestyle. Already lost 44 pounds (says only 13 because I just joined MFP in June) and plan to keep going until I reach 130!0

Hi Everyone. I am 36 and new to this MFP site. I am not new to the dieting and trying to loose weight thing though. I started counting calories this week and placing it all in a notebook until my sister told me about this site. I was doing really good until this weekend. Now I am all screwed up. Went over in everything but my carbs. I don't feel like exercising or nothing. Any suggestions? Anybody who wants to friend me are welcome to.0
