Hello,
I find having friends on MFP really helps keep me motivated!
A little about me:
I am 28 year old female with 60 lbs to lose. For most of my life I was 140 lbs but after my brother passed away 5 years ago I turned to food as a way to cope with grief. I want to get back to my "normal" weight. The weight I feel comfortable and healthy at. I really love MFP and would like to hear about you guys too!
I work as a nurse and find working out on my 12 hrs nights just does not happen. There is always food being brought in by my co-workers which can be very difficult to resist at 3AM! Any suggestions for resisting food at this time OR substituting with fun, healthy snacks would be much appreciated!
Keep motivated MFP friends, It will be hard during the holiday season but we can do it!

Hi, I'm 27 and I've already lost 40 pounds total and still need to drop about 40 - 50 more to be in a healthy weight range for my height. I was thin until I hit my teens basically starting high school at about a size 6/8, by my junior year I was up to a size 20 and graduated a size 18. I fought with depression & suicide, and food was my outlet. I got down to a size 16 wedding dress (I was 19 when I married my high school boyfriend) then we got comfortable and I swelled back up to a size 20. I'm down to a size 12 or 14 depending on the brand and I'm skinnier now than I have been in over 10 years. I would love to help motivate you, it's taken me 10 months just to drop 40 pounds and it's really hard if you don't have any support. Please feel free to add me :flowerforyou:0

I feel you. Night shift is ****. I work 4 12's every 2 weeks and it makes me depressed! I find it hard to sleep during the day, do you? The only good thing is the money. Keep up the good work!0

We get to choose if we do nights so some people don't do them ever!! which is a bit harsh.
This month my shift pattern has been
6/7/8th Earlies (0700-1450)
12th 13th I was annual leave for my birthday
15th I did an overtime night (my choice but the money will be worth it)
16/17/18 Nights
21st Late (1340-2130)
22/23/24 Earlies
25th Late
27/28 Earlies
29/30 Late.
Next month, thanks to having loads of annual leave I am only working 8 shifts and 6 of them are nights.
Oh I love my sleep, I will wake up every 2 hours but thats only to pop to the loo and then I make sure I drink water before dozing off again. I just find it so hard to eat well.0 -
oh man! switching back and forth is rough!
My schedule is all 12 hour shift nights. 4 nights on, 3 off, 2 nights on, 5 off...the 5 off is nice but I would switch it to get back to days! Let's keep each other motivated! Seriously, I have been eating crap at work! Everybody brings in goodies and it is hard to say no! Ug! we can do it!!0
