NSV- I didn't fall!

I fall, a LOT. I have fallen up stairs in shops in Paris and subways in Rome, down full flights of stairs at my house, head first down marble steps in a mall in Ottawa, and even down a flight of stairs on a ferry headed from Dover to Calais. I have tripped on curbs and flown through crowds, tripped on rocks and face planted on trails, lost my balance when transitioning onto marble floors from doormats and we won't even get started on falls on ice (I live in Canada and winter can be 6 months long).
My husband likes to tease me that I have the balance of a camel...on ice. I even took jiu jitsu for years to learn how to fall in a way that would result in minimal damage to myself.
There is a particular trail near my house that I love to run on. It is closed to runners for the winter, when it becomes a cross-country ski trail. When it first opened up this spring, on my very first run on it I tripped over a rock and I face planted. A totally inauspicious start to my trail running season.
Yesterday, I was running the trail for one of the last times this year (possibly the last if it snows soon!) and wouldn't you know it? I tripped over the EXACT SAME ROCK. But this time? THIS time I didn't fall. I audibly gasped, prepped for the fall, but my muscles engaged and I took two extra long steps to catch myself and then continued on my merry way without even breaking stride.
This may not be a victory to many, but to me? TOTAL WIN!! *happy dance*
