Better butt

Hey guys!

I'm a bit unhappy with the shape of my butt and I'd like a little bit of advice on the kinds of exercises I can do to bump it up! I've got squats down pat and don't really know where to go from here. Any recommended exercises? Anyone see significant progress? Thanks and feel free to add me! I need all the support I can get since it's hard to measure success when the scale isn't my main focus!

    Weighted back squats, lunges, deadlifts, hill sprints.

    Also, if you are trying to make it bigger - eat at a calorie surplus.

    Heavy lifting, especially squats and deadlifts.

    2. do this workout and with lots of squeezing effort, your bum will be HOT!

    Like seriously you will feel the burn for at least two days the first couple of times you do this. But it WORKS wonders!

    I haven't started lifting yet, but have been doing squats, lunges, and brisk paced walking up very steep incline on the treadmill which is giving me a noticable difference. Working on changing what my then teenage daughter and her friends referred to as "mom butt". UGH!

    If you have a really good, intense instructor, Zumba will change the shape completely. In a good way.

    Thicker. I've got a flat *kitten* right now! :( I want to pump it up! I know with my body type I won't ever get a fat *kitten*, but I'd like a little pop!

    Different exercises will work the minimus, max and medius to give you what you want.

    To gain muscle mass you will need to eat at a surplus.

    Is there a butt in that picture? I feel like im looking at an ultrasound and can't pick out the baby, or playing where's waldo..Is she just unhealthily skinny??

    Yeah you will need to eat at a surplus. When you say you already do squats, do you do them with heavy weights?

    You deadlift 8lb weights? :/

    Anywho I don't think there is a set weight to do lunges etc with, just whatever makes it challenging for you, as it gets easy, go up in weights.

    I do not mean to be discouraging. I think you have a great goal. But, I hope you are being realistic. You are not really going to build a better butt overnight, and you are not going to do it without lifting lots of very heavy weights.
    I have played soccer my entire life -- sprinting, turning, planting on one leg, kicking, usually for about 5-7 miles a game, twice a week or more. If it were that easy to build muscle and reshape your body, my legs and butt would have slowly, gradually, but notably grown over the years. I think my legs are strong, but they have not grown tremendously in size.
    If you want to build a butt, you are going to have to lift weights, heavy weights -- squatting, lunging, deadlifting -- and you have to expect that there will not be real results for at least six months.
    Now, if you just want to tone, you might be able to do that with a DVD and three months.
    Just trying to be realistic for you.

    I know people say squats all the time, but I have to mention that they need to be WEIGHTED squats. Not just with 8 pound dumbbells.

    Just did "the butt bible level 1" workout that a previous poster mentioned. Wow!! Glutes definitely felt the burn, but i think my quads are burning even worse/better lol.
