I weighted myself today, happened to gained 2.4 pounds over the past two days (i dont know how). Yesturday I did eat two times more than normal. In a way I am disappointed with myself that i gained two pounds, but then another side of me is saying who cares. I want to drop my last ten pounds by May, which is 100% doable. what do you guys think?

I think that day to day fluctuations in weight are relatively meaningless.

^^this....also if you ate double just yesterday, other than a high sodium consumption screwing up your water retention, you really shouldn't see a reflection in the scale in less than 24 hours.

Weighing in more than once a week was not a good idea for me. Like you, there were times when the scale said I had gained an enormous amount, yet I hadn't deviated at all from my daily diet. When I started weighing once a week, those occasional and temporary spikes in weight went unnoticed. (Sometimes, ignorance IS bliss... )

Look at it this way: a one day splurge is not going to make you gain 2.4 lbs. overnight. Decrease your sodium, increase your water consumption, and weigh again in a week.

to really see how meaningless your scale weight is, weigh yourself in the morning, then at noon and then before you go to bed.

there can be a 5 pound up or down.

assuming this doesn't drive you batty and you join the circus, invest in a body fat test once every three months or 6 months.

Your "gain" is an illusion. It takes a 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1lb and it takes 3500 calorie overage to gain 1 lb. So if you ate over 8000 calories yesterday, then maybe you did gain weight, and you need to see a specialist about your binging.
Most likely you just need some water to flush the sodium and another day to work the food from yesterday out of your system.
OH--your female, right? yeah. You're going to have 2x a month when you "gain" a few lbs due to hormonally inspired water retention. This happens during PMS/periods and during ovulation (mid-cycle).

Frustrating when you feel you need to see the scale moving consistently down, yeah..you are ok.
That scale will in the proper direction over time if you stay on plan.

    Hi

I hope you dont mind me saying but i had a look at your food diary and you tracked nothing for yesterday - i think it is important to be aware of your food - even when you have a bad day (i still track; whatever i eat)

It keeps you kind of accountable!

Also, if you track acuratly, then you appear to be very low on calories most days which is maybe why you had a bad day - perhaps try setting your caloires higher (say 1400) and see if that helps?
