Do you guys feel guilty after Thanksgiving?

I've been waiting for Thanksgiving for so long. I ate a lot on Thanksgiving but it's been two days now and I feel so guilty. :sad:

Nope, no guilt. I ate what I ate, it was a lot and it was glorious. I was back in the gym and eating right the next day....0

Why the guilt?
This is supposed to be a lifestyle change and you still have to live in the real world. If you feel guilt for a day of indulgence with family and friends then this is more like a punishment plan and food is a guilty indulgence rather than a fact of life. Our social culture does tend to revolve around food to an extent and it's ok to moderate most of the time and indulge infrequently without the guilt.
Lettuce is not a corporal punishment and cake is not a reward. They are both food and both appropriate at different times.0 -
No need to feel guilty. I worked out in the morning which helped me stay under my calorie goal:)0

I know this is easier said than done, but try to let the guilt go. Part of having a healthy relationship with food is to not feel guilty after eating, even when you do not eat so stellar. It is one day...you should enjoy it! It is a lifestyle change and being healthy is a lifelong journey.....just pick up and keep moving forward on your healthy journey...and remember, detours will happen!0

Not at all. I ate 4,700 calories, did not work out for them and enjoyed every single calorie.0

Not one bit. I ate good but did not go nuts. I had what I wanted and even seconds. Two days later still at the same weight as before Thanksgiving.0

I feel guilty that I was too busy obsessing about calories and food to enjoy time with my family.0

Don't feel guilty but of course I try not to go ove my maintenance, but i did have a small piece of apple pie (only for the holiday )

Nope and I ate two big meals along with some pie. Didn't work out the day after. Weighed into today and only gained less than a pound. Winning.0

Nope and I ate 2000 calories over! As long as you are usually good who cares, it's one stinking day0

I'll feel better when I lose the 2 pounds I gained. The only thing that bothers me (not necessarily guilty, just bothered) is that I ate things I didn't even want and didn't like, just because I felt I had to (as a guest). It's a mindset that I haven't changed yet, but I'm working on it!0

Felt guilty for maybe the first hour after dinner because I felt like I couldnt breath :laugh: but no regrets, and I had about 2500 calories. it's one day a year where my entire family got together and i just enjoyed it. went back to the gym the next day and then worked out twice today, once the weekday starts i'll be back in my old routine and it's all good. :drinker:0

I had two days way over calorie goal, and today I had a normal good day. I was out of town at relatives for a whole week, so I don't consider two bad days to be too bad. The rest of the time I was under calorie goal and I exercised every day except Thanksgiving itself. I wanted to enjoy the holiday. I did, but I wish I would not have indulged that second day. So a little guilty.0

I don't feel guilty at all. I had a blast Thursday and Friday and jumped back on the horse today! It was nice. I was refreshed and ready to go!
Give yourself a break! With that said, it's taken me a good while to not feel guilty for every calorie all the time!0 -

My life involves food and holiday. I'm not going to feel guilty for that. Guilt is an appropriate feeling for doing something wrong, and enjoying an extravagant meal on a special day with family is not something wrong.0 -
I planned on not dieting for those two days (Thanksgiving plus leftover day). Trying to calculate a scoop of everything would have made me crazy. Thankfully, I didnt eat a mountain of food because my stomach felt full sooner. I had one plate with no food touching other food, a couple small pieces of pie throughout the day and leftovers in my lunch. I gained o.4 lbs which could easily be from all the sodium. No guilt. If anything I feel more sane not counting each calorie for those two days.0

What little I gain I will loose again. If I weigh the same the time before Thanksgiving as right after New Years, Ill be happy. In between I'll gain some and loose some, it all works out by not going way overboard and doing the normal most of the days.0
