Must lose at least 2000$, if you go to LV. If you have not lost minimum 2000$ at LV you might as well not go at all cos time is wasted. That's a thing everybody should do at least once in lifetime, lose 2000$ at LV.0

^ haha no need to go all the way to Vegas to lose 2k, - I like doing that at my local casinos - A.K.A. - supporting local business with my own monetary contributions.
But If I were going to Vegas - I deff would like to go with at least 5k to play with (I like to gamble) and deff go see some shows and what not.0 -
Haha. Me neither! Planning on going for my birthday in May.
It's on my bucket list!!!
I will be stalking this thread for tips as well!
I know they have the booths where you can get tickets to shows that day for pretty cheap every morning.0 -
I love Vegas. I try and go 2+ times a year.
Def see some shows if you have the time/money.0 -
Vegas:

Read as much as you can about Vegas!
figure out how long you have to stay...
...find good rates, go onto Groupon/Living Social look for coupons... food/gifts are NOT cheap in SINCITY - If you go to clubs or want to go check them out online and see how the sites looks!
We bought 2 Groupons and 1 living social deals..half off and stuff..
How much to bring to Vegas -- pending on if u wanna gamble or just get show tickets-- just relax--save save save! of course make sure all your monthly bills are paid! DUH! ----PAY THAT GYM MEMBERSHIP TOO!!!
Tipping--a buck a drink--$2 a drink? something nice!! READ up on that toooooo
Im going with my family-family friends for 6 days...so we know what we wanna do and wanna go too! 1 or 2 shows, we got a wedding to attend and dinner off the strip. We are not going to Grand Cannon, or Hover Dam or California --we just don't have the time! We are going to walk the strip--
Pending on where you stay--you might not need a rental car! --They have a trolly to take you up and down the strip for a small fee ($1-$2) ? DONT take taxis--pricey and BLAH! I would spend the money for a rental car before i would get a taxi, even if i was pressured for time!
My wife and I did ship our luggage Fedex Ground. Airlines are crazy with fees and BLAH so if you wanna save from fees might wanna look into shipping luggage... Watch for hotel charges to ship luggage to the hotel directly! We shipped ours to a Fedex Office location at no fee!
Off the strip you will find BETTER foods and CHEAPER prices! NO JOKE!
GOOOGLE will be your best friend!
My wife and I went to Books-a-million and got a book on Vegas "List of Top 10" ..I HATE BOOKS -- Its small and compact has maps of the city- inside it has different tips and ratings of hotels-buffets-sightseeings-things to avoids- ECT ECT ECT--
ROCK ON Be careful--woohoo!

We have been several times on business but in Jan. or Feb. we are planning a week-end trip just for the two of us. We are staying at the Venetian. Jim has stayed there before and loves it. It's got tons of golf courses if you like that. There are art galleries and you should take in Freemont Street at night. You should hit the Rio and go to their Carnival. It's free and fun to watch. Any of the Cirque de Sole shows are worth the $$. You can buy a 2 day pass of the trolley and get off and on at any of the hotels. CHEAP too. We don't gamble more than penny slots and then not much. You can go to the Flamingo and see their flamingos. Definitely see the fountains at the Bellagio, at night is best. The inside is fabulous! There are lots of reasonable buffets but skip the seafood buffet at Rio, WAAAAYYY too expensive!!! We haven't done the Hoover Dam but our daughter has. She took a bus tour and thought it was great.0

I am probably in the minority here, but I find Vegas to be a complete snooze-fest. If you like to gamble it might be fun for you. Also, the place is crawling with hookers and hustlers. Not my idea of a good time. Even if you have a ton of disposable income, there are better things to do with that money elsewhere.
There are some good shows to see, and the hotels are superb (I go on business and have stayed at the Wynn, Bellagio and Vdara), but I'd much rather go to New Orleans or fly to Europe than go to Vegas. I rather go to Canada even!0 -
Go see as many naked shows as you can [well at least one] - flirt with strangers - do NOT gamble more than what you expected to gamble - see a Musical - get laid - get drunk at 10am - visit Tao0

Check out the shows - some of them are pretty amazing. Personally, I have enjoyed Cirque De Soleil's O the most. There is an amusement park ON TOP OF one of the hotels (I think it's Stratosphere) that is a thrill. Hoover Dam is a must see but maybe not on your first trip. Walking the strip and checking out the over the top extravagance of some of the places is fun as well (and free). There are many incredible restaurants as well - but be careful since good cuisine often means high calory content as well! LOL Most importantly, set a budget for what you're willing to lose gambling and stick to it! Doesn't matter if it's $100 or $100,000 - don't lose more than you willing to part with as entertainment dollars. Have fun!0

Welcome to Vegas. The city has anything and everything to offer. It truly is the city that never sleeps. Tough not to have a good time. You actually have to work at it which apparently one poster here seems to have done. Didn't think it was possible. We have great weather, the best shows, the best food and won't cost a fortune in cabs.0
-
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. LOL0
-
If I ever go (which is HIGHLY unlikely) I'd have to try a buffet there, after an mfp friend described one. :laugh:0

Interesting responses! I have tickets to see Shania Twain at Caesar's Palace and I'm not much of a gambler. I love the night life, drinking, dancing etc. I'm not concerned about food ~ I plan on eating what I like when I like! :happy:0
-
Don't worry about what time it is... and keep your shirt on... that is my advice! *mwah*0

Fremont street is Kewl! Why the eff didn't you invite me? Thought I was your pal?
Anyhoooo, have a blast! :drinker:0 -
Vegas is great if you go with 10k in your pocket.0
-
LOL at the responses to visit the Hoover Dam. Seriously??0

I'm so obsessed with Vegas. I go at least 3 times a year lol. In Casino Royale (It's a small casino to the left of Harrah's) they have a bar that sells dollar beers and margaritas. My boyfriend and I parked ourselves right next to that bar for 3 hours and spent 30 dollars...you can imagine how we looked when we left lol. Actually...I don't remember leaving hahahaha.0

I looked at the thread because of the poor grammar. I was wondering what the heck you were talking about.0
