Heart rate and weight loss

I feel as though my heart rate elevates rapidly and stay pretty high throughout my workouts. My heart rate ranges from 160-190 but mostly stays at 180.
I've heard for fat loss your heart rate is suppose to range from 120-150.
I'm not sure if my heart rate is safe to maintain.
Any insight?
Happy workouts!

When I run my heartrate averages 178bpm (sometimes peaking at 190bpm). I always assumed as I lost weight and got fitter this would get lower but I'm here 52lbs down and still pushing at these levels.

My HRM advises to be "in the zone" i should be between 118-155 beats per minute...0

If I want to train in "the zone", apparantly I should run at 123 BPM. This means walking on the treadmill to me So that's what I do...
I alternate, I have three runs a week, where one is a heart rate % run, means walking, one is a long run (one hr), and one is interval where I run fast for 30 sec / one minute, and then slow down until my HR is about 145, and then fast again.
I think it's important to run at a pace where you feel good... If you exercice at 180 and you don't feel like you're gonna faint, go ahaid. Listen to your body. It wil tell you to slow down when you need to ;-)
Oh, and your average HR lowers as you get fitter.0 -
I would not be concerned about the high rate, assuming you are healthy. What I have always heard about losing fat is the key is high intensity interval training....meaning that you want to fluctuate your heart rate during the course of your workout, rather than maintaining a level rate. I am not sure what you are currently doing, but you could try varying the intensity so your heart rate comes down for a bit, then goes up for a bit, etc. etc. I typically follow a 2 minute moderate intensity, 1 minute hard intensity, back to 2 min moderate intensity work out.0

I do insanity, so this would be perfect. Thank you so much!0
