Hi I am trying a new method in my diet, I am going to try to go vegan. My questions are how could I get protein while being vegan? And would it slow down my metabolism when I switch?

Tofu has a lot of protein in it. You can marinade it in teriyaki sauce or anything really. Also, you should give tofurkey a try. My fiance got some to try out as an experiment. He wasn't a fan of it, but I LOVE it! Put it on a salad, even better.

Protein shouldn't be an issue for anyone unless they are a serious bodybuilder. Tofu and beans are both excellent sources of protein for vegetarians and vegans. The only things to watch are your iron intake and vitamin B12. If you are serious about becoming vegan do your research and read up on it as much as you can. It's not for everyone, but for some of us, it's an amazing life changing experience. Also join some of the vegan groups - great resources for information.0

All food contains protein.
You can only be protein deficient if you are calorie deficient.
Great options are: beans, quinoa, tofu, bread, nuts, seeds, brown rice protein powder, hummus, soy products like soy milk / soy yoghurt / fake meats etc, green veggies!0 -
I'm a vegi but my protien is normally from, quorn, couscous and soya beans.0

Just eat plenty of pulses and lentils. All veg have some protein in it but make sure you are also getting enough iron and calcium.
As long as you eat lots of fresh fruit and veg you should be ok.
As everyone says tofu is good. I mainly get mine from beans. It goes in everything

Beans, lentils, etc are delicious, and so many recipes out there. We were vegetarian for about two years, and my son & his wife were vegan for a while. For health, environmental and philosophical reasons.
I don't think I could go vegan, I like to still eat cheese, eggs, etc; but it wouldn't really bother me if we went back to being vegetarian - felt better!0 -
