Fitbit One or Jawbone Up?

I am looking to purchase either a FitBit One or a Jawbone Up. Biggest reasons for this purchase are to more accurately track my jogging/steps per day, track my sleep patterns, and the silent alarm. Plus to have data seems to help me push myself to another level.

So do any of you own either of these devices and can you tell me why you either love or hate the device you have?

Thanks!

I purchased a FitBit One and used it for about a day. Last year I purchased a BodyMedia and loved it! I stopped using it after a while and then got caught up with the newest gadget; the FitBit so I bought it.

Here's what I didn't like about the FitBit. It's not as accuarte with it's readings such as exercise and sleep because it's calculated in steps taken. Now, if you're looking for something to just measure your steps daily and something you can quickly glance at, then it's great. The other advantage is the size; it's tiny!

Here's what I like about the BodyMedia. It's extremely accurate due to the sensors on it. It tracks steps taken, sleep, calories burned etc, just like the FitBit. When you sync it, you can see the graph of your calorie burn and look at any particular time that you burned calories and what that total was. For example, I can see exactly how many calories I burned during my 60 min kickboxing class. Also, on the sleep tracker, you can see when you were asleep, when you were awake during the night. The only draw back, compared to the FitBit is the size. It's an arm band but it's not a biggie.

I just reinstated my BodyMedia and got a free month's subscription. That's the other thing. The FitBit is free, no monthly subscription. The BodyMedia is $7 per month. However, in my opinion, it's worth it because of the accuracy and it's compatable with MFP!

    Good luck in your decision!

I don't know about the jawbone up, but I really loved my fitbit, & found it to be as accurate as the bodybugg, aka body media. Didn't like the size of the arm band. Loved the small size of the fitbit, but it fell off my jeans, & is long lost =(
I will get another one, but it gave me a really accurate average of what I burn, & I am still seeing progress from that knowledge.

Thanks! I'm not much for arm bands. I could do a braclet...but I have decided to try the FitBit One.
