So...I've come to the conclusion that I have weak wrists. I'm not sure if this is a medical condition, like early onset carpal tunnel, or genetic.Heck sometimes it really hurts when I friggin clip my nails. Meh, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a minor form of carpal tunnel though, what with the horribly unergonomic desk I work at everyday for 8 hours. I also have slightly weak grip strength.

So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that I could do to work out my arms and tone them up. I can only do a few pushups for so long, and maybe 1 rep of the......lat press? The one where you pull it down to in front of your chest --- before it starts to hurt my wrists.

I've been up and down in weight for the past few years but my arms always have a tendency to stay the same.

Drop the weight on the lat pulldown so you can complete more than one rep :) That works your back more than your arms though.

Shoulders: front raises, side raises, upright rows
Biceps : bicep curls, alternate hammer curls, cable bicep curls
Triceps: Rope pulldown, dips, kick backs

I don't know if this is 100% accurate but this is what I've been told by my team of medical people through the years.

There is a band around your wrist bone. This band, once you are grown, will never ever get any bigger or stronger. It is the band you have period. They say that weight lifters often get horrible carpal tunnel from doing exercises incorrectly making their forearms huge and stretching that band to it's limits.

The good thing to do is to avoid surgery if at all possible. Chiropractors have a lot of help with this and can do wonders. I have known 4 people that have had the surgery. They tell me they go in and snip the band to make it release more. That is it. If it doesn't work or makes it work there is no going back. One of the people I know that have had it done is in less pain now. The others were not as succesful.

Do your other joints hurt you at all? Fingers, elbows, shoulders, knees? You can have a blood test done to see if you have an inflamation factor....just a thought.

here's a forearm workout, i heard it from a bull rider to strenghthen his grip. hold your arms straight out in front of you, fists out. open your hands so all your fingers are fully extended and apart from each other, quickly close your hands back to fists, open, close. repeat for about a minute as fast as you can

You should see a doctor. But if you have weak wrists, take a light dumbbell in each hand, rest your forearms on something and slowly raise and lower your wrists.
