Water

Does anyone else have a problem drinking their water for the day? I usually get about 6 glasses (and really don't drink anything but water), but can never seem to get in those last two! I was just seeing if anyone else had any hints to help me get more in!

I HATED water before I joined this site. I found quickly, however, that when I got my water in and kept my sodium low I lost and when I didn't, I gained, so I had to figure something out. I bought one of the camelbak water bottles that holds three cups. I fill it up in the late morning when I have my first meal and usually I finish it with that meal, I do the same with my second meal. That's six cups down, but it doesn't FEEL like six cups, because it's just two water bottles full, it's like a mind game. Usually, during the day or after my second meal I have it filled up again and sip it rather than snacking and it's easy to get in the last two cups, if not a third.

You need to consume enough 'liquid" daily for your urine to be clear. The 8 cups a day is a guideline. Depending on activity, climate, metabolism & size, some need more & some less. Notice the key word "liquid", which includes food (soup, fruits, etc) & other drinks.(coffee, tea, soda)

You don't need to drink 64 oz or a gallon or any other set amount of water per day. If your urine is pale yellow to clear and you aren't thirsty then you are hydrated. You get lots of liquids from food you eat not just from drinking water. There is no scientific proof that drinking large amounts of water does anything for your health or weight loss.
