Dumbest fitness related thing your S/O has said
Shared this with my wall yesterday, but it's just too funny.
My fiance and I were discussing working out together. He often fears I'll get "too ripped" so I told him not to worry about that.
And he responds "it's all about the gap"
I reply (rolling my eyes because I know what's coming) "What gap"
Him "YOU KNOW, THE GAP"
Me "I'm sorry I don't follow"
Him "Well, when a woman is at the very peak of her physical fitness.... there will be a thigh gap"
I took much joy in tellling him that was the dumbest thing I'd ever heard him say.

Got's dem birthin' hips.
I am SURE there are a ton of very fit women who do not have a thigh gap. (oh here we go again). It's NOTHING like the male V.0 -
"my stomach is hard enough for both of us".0

Okay...I am a woman and I am unsure what a "thigh gap" is....am I the only one???0

'There's no way you'll lose weight or get fit exercising for 25 minutes a day''
re: 30 Day Shred.
I am proving him wrong!! lol!0 -
Okay, this isn't from my significant other, but someone else in my family. I was having issues with a plateau and he (being the nursing and anatomy student in all his infinite wisdom) suggest eating only one meal a day. *blink blink*0

"A girl at work brought me in a 'sample' of this shake to try; it's really tasty!"
I say "Oh, that was nice. Does she sell it or what?"
"Yeah, it's sort of expensive. She does some 'beachbody thing'."
Me: "Ummm, why not just eat right?"

You can't have a piece of chocolate, you are on a diet.

Allow me to put this into perspective. My boyfriend is a little over 6ft and built fairly broad. I am 5ft 5 on a good day. When I started this weightloss journey last year, I weighed 155lbs. So, the other day, we were hanging out and he looks in the mirror and says "I weighed myself yesterday, I'm down to 155. God I'm still fat."
Uhm...thanks for that information, honey. Was I morbidly obese then? :facepalm:0 -
I'm gonna echo some of the other posters, my SO just immediately jumps on me whenever he sees me eating a piece of chocolate or drinking a non diet soda. I don't know why he does it though, cuz every time I freak the F*** out on him and tell him he doesn't know what he's talking about!!!!
He has also had the nerve to tell me that 'before' I wasn't 'fun to come home to' and he gets scared that I will get like 'that' again. SMDH0 -

I go to the fridge and there's no bacon, so I ask her where the bacon went and she replies " I thought you were on a diet so I ate it" ...... Enough said.0

"Does this [size 2] dress make me look fat?"
Of course she always bats her eyelashes when she says it . . . gets me every time0 -

Hilarious! Absolutely hilarious!

He knows how moronic I found the statement. I was more than happy to tell him.
"you're a smart man sweetie, but that is the dumbest thing you've ever said"0 -
Here is taunto's solution to all these
Just break up
(or maybe its somebody's elses solution on MFP. hmm)0 -
The gap is a mystical and for many women unrealistic body goal in which one's thighs do not touch.
If you have the correct body type, you can have one. If you don't, you would have to lose more weight than is healthy to get one.
My BF used to constantly tell me that if I wanted to lose weight, all I had to do was pushups and situps.0 -
I love lifting and my husband repeatedly tells me he loves my back. When the Patreaus thing hit, he actually commented that his side dish looked "manish". WTF? She looks like a hot piece of *kitten* to me (except in that one awkward photo they keep showing).
I was logging the last of my food to see if I could afford a liquid dessert, and he's reading this "Good Fats Bad Fats" book and says, "do you count calories? You should read this, it says you shouldn't do that". Mind you in the more than a year on here, I've lost 4 sizes and stayed down (in size, my weight has gone up which means my muscles are hot and my fat is leaving). In that time he's gained 20 pounds. Glad to have him tell me what I should do to get fit.0 -
Mine said that lifting would make my bulk like a man...
I ignored him.0 -
My S/O believe that it's better to do light weight/more reps because it "tones" you...
Also he believes in "cleanses"...I told him your body cleanses itself naturally, but he feels that all the stuff that you don't need stays in you until you cleanse it out...0 -

"I can't lose weight." (about himself.)
...ya I'm sure sitting around on the computer all day and eating out all the time has NOTHING to do with that. >.>0
