A picture can't be wrong...

Ok so I've been complaining like mad lately about how much I've sucked since pretty much the end of summer. The scale has bounced between 173 & 167 for months and months and months - today I'm 170, tomorrow I could be 169 or 171, who knows. But anyway, so I was looking back at photos from the summer & came across one that made me cringe - now granted it wasn't my highest weight- or even close to it, I was actually down probably 40lbs by that point. It made me cringe because that night I thought I was hot *kitten*, a skinny minnie...but it turns out I was not. I jumped out of bed & put the same outfit on I wore that night & realized that I haven't sucked since the end of summer - even if the scales haven't shown the exact number that I've been looking for - the picture can't be wrong. I feel like seeing the difference between these 2 pictures will really help me get back on track. All I can think about is trying these same clothes on 6 months from now & them being too big. Anyway - here's the pictures ...
Yeah Idk why it's blury, or even why this one was taken but ya get the pt...
And this one I was probably 5 or 6 drinks in...so you can overlook the hideousness that is my face...
And THIS was TONIGHT  I'm guessing my weight to have been 190ish in the first pics...today as you know its 170.

Wow! You look great. Those pictures are definitely telling the truth. The scale is not always the best thing to use. I know I live by it because I'm too lazy to do anything else, but if I can give you some hypocritical advice I would tell you to bust out the tape measure and start measuring yourself every 2 weeks or so. That might give you the confidence boost you need that the scale is not.0

MAJOR DIFFERENCE! you can see your stomach has gotten much flatter! great job. your hips too!! I can't wait to get down 20lbs0

you look AWESOME! Scales are our enemies I have taken pictures in my swimsuits since I started losing weight 2 years ago. Sometimes I look back on them, maybe one day I will burn them but for now they make me proud at how far I've come.
Keep up the good work0 -
Thanks for the pick me up! I'm stuck around that area too! For like 3 months i've bounced around from 168-171 too!! It's driving me crazy!! Must be a popular plateau weight!0

Definitely a difference! I can really tell in the belly area.
BTW, I have lots of pictures where I thought I looked good because I felt better, but when I look back now, I am like "I was still pretty fat there." LOL0 -
You look amazing! Throw out the scale because you're doing something right!!!0 -

I would of never guessed that in the current picture you weigh 170. You don't look 170, much lighter than that. Great job and determination.0

HUGE difference
u look fantastic..keep up the great job
I think we are hard on ourselves to loose the weight then if we feel like we are slacking or gain a few pounds back, we are even harder on ourselves and don't realize how far we've come
*coming from someone who has recently gained back 10 pounds and struggling to get back on the band wagon*0 -
Wow...I wouldn't have guessed 170 now either....Don't get too jacked up about the numbers....just keep up doing your workouts....whatever your doing is working> You look hott!0

:flowerforyou: Thanks guys! Ya'll are all too sweet.
And I'm 5'10 so I have plenty of height to hide 170lbs.0 -
Thanks for posting! I am really struggling too with a plateau at 149-150. It's been aggravating the shiot out of me, but I have to remember that I once was over 170lbs (@ 5'4, believe me nowhere to hide allllllll of that).
I guess we just gotta keep on keepin' on....0 -
:noway: Wowwww - ok so I have to add more pictures on here - my coworkers decided today that I needed to cut my hair short again (which so isn't happening) so I thought I'd dig out the pics from when it was short to prove how bad it looked. Man, I'm loving finding these before pictures, makes me realize how far I've actually come & is more motivation to continue.
This is me & my son in Feb 2007 (he was 1)
This is me & my daughter in Feb 2010 (she is 1) the clarity on this one is pretty terrible but I liked that it was with DD at 1yr.

Holy crap JS! You look so different!0

Your belly is gone!! You look fantastic :flowerforyou:0

Keep the hair long, you look great and don't need to lose another pound. And "looking" 170 and having height to "hide" it has nothing to do with anything. I'm 6'0" and I think you look great! You look appropriate for your height. As long as you're comfortable in your skin and in your clothes, who cares what the scale says?0
