Has anyone ever made these or something like them? Are they good? They're "date and nut energy balls", I thought the ingredients looked yummy and thought I might give em a try but wanted some opinions first...
1/2 cup of Almond butter
10 wholes of Dates, pitted
1 1/2 tbsps of Honey
1/4 cup of Dried coconut flakes
2 tbsps of Sliced almonds
2 tbsps of Cocoa powder
Preparation Instructions
Process almond butter & dates in a food processor or blender. Soak dates in water for an hour to make blending easier.
Mix cocoa, honey, almonds, and almond butter date mixture in a bowl. Roll mixture into small balls with your hands.
In a small bowl, roll balls in coconut flakes, and set balls aside. When all balls are complete, refrigerate.

There's one recipe that I've tried before. Basically the same thing, just opted for oatmeal versus the ground nuts. I think the recipe I tried was about 90 calories / 1 serving.0

Yes, I use a similar recipe. I eat one about 30 minutes before my morning workout so I have the energy to get through it. I use dates for preworkout. I also make a batch using dried plums which reduces the sugar and has a lower blood sugar effect. They are absolutely delicious and taste like a chocolate truffle. Beware...they are addicting :-)0
