Need some motivational friends to kick my butt!

Hello all,

I'm Crystal and I've been overweight and struggling with it my entire life. I've been through it all! Deep depression in my teens and early 20's and now a hardened denial at this point in my life. Luckily now, I am full of life, great friends, happy with the person I've become inside but I am still unhappy with my outward appearence and I know it hinders me living my life to fullest.

I'm hoping I can gain some new friends here and help each other with motivation! I sit on my butt all day at work (which is exhausting!!) and I have ZERO motivation for physical activity. Food is my best friend/worst enemy... as well as alcohol, which isn't helping this belly situation. All my friends are skinny and have no idea about struggling to lose weight and the emotions that come with it. Tired of the "Just do it!" "It's not that hard" or "Why don't get surgery?" (Not something I am ever willing to do unless I have extremely failing health)

So, I am looking to get back on track, take the donut out my mouth and get off my *kitten*. All new positive friends are appreciated.

Cheers!!!

Ah I know what you mean, I spent so many years, gaining and gaining weight. About 30 in all, I really have turned things around and I love helping others lose as well. Please feel free to add me if you want someone in your corner to stay and to offer help where needed. We can do this..we can finish this journey.
  • I know what you're going through. You're here now and on your way to a "new you"!!
    You CAN do this!!!

I know what you're going thru...I have been there (still am for that matter). You took the first step -- you're here (the BEST PLACE TO BE), we can motivate each other and help one another. We know what it's like. Proud of you for taking the first step. Proud that you acknowledge what is happening and not sweep it under a rug. You're on your way. Feel free to add me as well, now that you're here --we're here together --- LET'S DO IT
    TOGETHER!!

Now about the alcohol, well you already know

Here's something you can do while at work, if you get a break -- even a 5, 10, 15 min you can take that time to go for a walk. Walk around the block, around the building or to the corner and back (however many times within the time frame of your break). Stand up in front or back of your chair (used for balancing), and just stand with feel flat on the floor, stand on the tips of your toes - hold it about 3 seconds then release. Do that for about 3 or 4 times with 8 reps each time. It will help with balance, strengthen your lower legs, and its not a lot of pressure on the knees. Even if you take the stairs instead of the elevator (at least 1 or 2 times a day) you can get in some cardio.
  • Hi, my GP (local DR) recomended my fitness pal a few months ago. I started off well, then slowly stopped. I am looking for people to help me keep on track. I know I am the one who has to do the hard work, but have found i need some help to keep me ontrack. I've rread through some of the posts on here and have found them to be encouraging and helpful whic is great
  • Hi Crystal64, I joined last month and am also looking to loose weight. Hopefully we can encourage each other to keep going and loose the weight we need to.
