Hmm Not sure what to choose. I did 39 miles today alone... And typically I do 20+ miles each ride. I guess this would put me in the 250-300mi club

Could use a little accountability these days. It'll all be indoor, so I'll use time. I'm in for 12hrs (3hr per week) on the trainer this month. Never really measured this way so we'll see how it goes.

    12/3: 60 Min Moderate ~ 18 miles
  • I'm in!

Hi everyone, and thanks for doing this CricketKate!
I'm in again, and setting my goal at 250, gulping as I type this and hoping to make it. Joining this challenge last month for the first time helped keep me accountable, motivated, and inspired to reach my goal.
    Happy cycling :)

I am a novice biker, in fact, my bike is a beach cruiser with a big pillow top seat. But I'm doing a triathalon next summer. I will get outdoors in spring, but meanwhile, which type of gym biking is the best to start training with? My gym has a few kinds of stationery bikes and a regular spinning class. What is a good goal time for 25 miles, an hour? Does your butt hurt forever, or do you get used to it?

I'm in for the challenge, just need a few pointers. Thanks.
  • Did 30 minutes last night....boy, going from nothing to something really kicked my butt! But I will get back into the swing of it!

The winter temps & snow have arrived in NH . . . It will be spin class for the next few months.

Dec. 5th: 17 miles (*Spin Class*)

Total so far = 17 miles (*Goal for December = 120 miles)
  • I've never done a cycling challenge, and I'm starting a little late, but I'm always up for something new. So... starting small, I'm going to pledge 20 for the month.

I will try this out as I really need to get back on my bike. I am not sure how much distance I can do, so will aim for time. I swim more as it is summer and work is at its most chaotic so I will set a reachable goal of 2 hours by the end of Dec!

I'm starting late and this is my first challenge. I also work in retail, so this is a crazy month to start, but I'm in! I'm gonna go for 15miles per week, so 60 total. This is on an indoor bike, if that matters. =)

I wanted to tell congrats on your loss and great goal of the triathalon I have no training tips but wanted to talk to you about butt sore- I am 338 currently and can ride 12 miles now I started out at .75 mile in OCT - GET GOOD PADDED RIDING SHORTS they make a big difference- I put most of my 156miles on my bike without them and my butt did get somewhat use to it but what a difference the shorts made- they allowed me to ride longer a lot longer. Best of Luck to you.

Did 30 minutes last night....boy, going from nothing to something really kicked my butt! But I will get back into the swing of it!

    12/5 18.4 miles
    Total 65.1
    % of Goal 28.9%

Now that I've biked the "long way around" a few days, I didn't use the GPS. So of course, I made a wrong turn and found myself traveling a sandy path (this is AZ after all) along the railroad tracks instead of a nicely paved bike path along the canal. I was very glad my bike had those fat tires!

Phx temp 81 with some clouds.
