woooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooo! I came off of my plateau! I was 141.5 last week, and this week....139.5!
So long 140s....I never want to see you again, until I decide to have another child anyway:)! Yippppppeeeee!:bigsmile:

Any suggestions on how I should start out?? I'm a little confused as to what it is I should be doing. I'm sure they will provide some info & insight but I cannot afford a personal trainer!!

Have you been following "stroutman81" 's blog? "The Myth detective" He is super helpful and has so many suggestions for weight loss, maintenance, diet, exercise. He is VERY wordy and informative and has an on-line consulting business but seems generous with his advice. He responds to people who respond to his blog and sounds like he might even answer e-mail. I love a mix of aerobic and weight/resistance. I try to do the things I could not do at home.0 -

Maybe you need to switch things up a bit like me...any ideas?
I think eating out at Chipotle ruined things for me. LOL :happy: I'm blaming it on my bad food choice this week! Plus, I did let myself become starving a few times. I'm going to increase my weight at the gym for weight training.
I did however fit into my True Religion Jeans! My husband bought them for me when I lost the weight after my first baby and they were snug when I wore them before my 2nd pregnancy. Now they are loose!! YEAH! He may have to buy me another pair! HA HA

I'm in Ontario Canada so I'm not sure if you would know the name. It's the Athletic Club (24hours). Nothing down and $40/month with towel service, pool, women's only section, hot yoga & anti gravity yoga along with MANY other classes. A co-worker of mine is signed up there so I will have a work out buddy!!0 -
Morning all!!
Down 0.5lbs this week. I didn't expect a big loss since I've had a rough week! I've been under my calorie intake but not by much and my water intake has been AWFUL!!
I went to the gym last night but after a long tour etc. I didn't get to work out. I'll be going tonight to do some cardio...wish me luck LOL0 -
Altogether a pretty good week for exercise and water! The push-up thing.. not so good :grumble: I have figured out that I just don't like p/u's all that much!
Weighing in on Thursday since we leave for a weeklong trip tonight. So... I AM DOWN another 1/2 pound!! :drinker: :flowerforyou: :drinker: CW 136.2
Those last 10 pounds migh leave me yet!
Ellipse, enjoy your gym week. Hope you get all revved up and find a good program for you. While they want to sell you that membership they can probably give you quite a few tips and instruction too!

I'd spend a couple of weeks trialing all the classes, then stick with the ones which are most fun. I never used to do classes (thought they were for women) but then I also didn't have a clue what I was doing in the gym, so I just stuck to treadmill, eliptical, rowing machine... stuff I could use. Got very boring.
Then I started doing the classes and the variety is huge, the motivation is excellent, there's always someone showing you what to do! Completely different and I go all the time now.
So I'd recommend those mostly.
As for me - I've definitely come off my plateau (80kg). I'm 79 now, but peaked 78 a couple of times during the week. I think by the end of this week I'll be solidly at 78.0 -

Are you doing alot of strength training? Muscle does weigh more than fat...and maybe that's why you are stuck! Give you body a bit of shake and mix things up a bit!0 -

Back from our action packed trip to Cali. I 'spose I will weigh in this Friday but always a little risky after travel and all the good eats. I tried to drink lots of water and i figure 2 days of sking was good! :happy:
Had a day of stomach... something :frown: that probably kept me in check too. Wouldn't reccommend it though! :noway:

I can totally relate! I'm a teacher and in the lounge there is ALWAYS cake, cake, and cheese cake!! I'm usually good at avoiding it but sometimes it gets to you!
Why do they do that to us teachers??? Friday will be our monthly pay day breakfast full of doughnuts, pastries, etc... I'm bringing low fat yogurt with berries and low fat granola as my breakfast dish. That way I can have something sweet too and not eat the garbage that I will be tempted to have.
I just signed up for a 4 mile mad mud race! It's on May 22nd! I can't wait. It'll be fun. We will be participating as a 5 person co-ed team wearing hula skirts and coconut shells. (teams wear costumes when doing the race).
Good Luck GOGO with your 5 K! I remember the first time I ran a 5K... I was such a great accomplishment. I just ran my first half marathon in December and now I'd like to run a full. But I have to wait .... training for that is time consuming and we may be moving this summer.
OH.... I'm wearing size 4 pants today!!! Woo Hoo!!!! I have 6 lbs left to lose before I will pull out the skirts!0 -

10 down - 4 more to go (1st goal) and down 9.5". To be honest, I'm not feeling as if I've lost anything. My clothes fit the same (a bit of room in the waist though) and I'm not 100% convinced just yet!
Wish me luck at my assessment next week. I have no idea how it's going to go and I'm not looking forward to what my percentage of body fat.0 -
Down to 151.8 from 155.2 last week. Not real sure how that happened, but pleasantly surprised! I've met my goal. Now I've really got to work on toning.0

Does anyone know for sure where to measure the waist, been online and there is conflicting advice. One says at the slimmed part of the waist, which would be pretty far up like under right the rib cage and another says right above the top of your hip. Does anyone know for sure?

I actually have this same dilema. My daughter sees a specialist for her high cholesterol and when they measure her waist it's always just below her rib cage. This is where I started measuring. Since I have had 2 kids I've also decided to measure right around my belly button as I have some "baby belly" going on. This is where I want to see the loss too!
I'll find out when I go for my assessment next week as to where I should be measuring.0 -

So that means I am up almost a pound, but hey, I had dipped pretty low before that! Have kept up decently with water drinking and exercise. Back in the saddle again on food logging.
