No, I wouldn't.0

I wouldn't either. I love food too much.0

I don't normally replace entire meals with meal replacement/protein supplements. I like protein bars/shakes after working out, but that's the extent of it.0
-
I couldn't do it. I like food.0
-
I'd rather wait to nom nom real food.
This program didn't even take the time and try and fool people with at least some diet food......this is a dos program, not worth it. j/k lol0 -
Meal replacements don't replace meals. You need much more than just protein to maintain health. Vitamins, minerals, carbs (yes, you need them) fiber, etc. But more than that, if you are going to maintain your weight loss you need to train yourself to eat good, balanced nutrition - like a normal person living a normal life. Use your weight loss journey to learn about how to feed yourself well for life. (That being said, the occasional mela replacement won't do any harm....)0

I don't mind it once in a while, like a protein shake for breakfast if I'm in a hurry, but I wouldn't like doing it all the time, I love food!0
-
I like my whey protein but I'd rather have chicken or turkey. I used Isoflex since it has 27g of protein and only 1g of carbs.0

Alright I love food to guys Part of why i am in my predicament im in, and that's fine, i like all your guyses opinion but I don't just have meal replacements ill be having Real food as you guys call it, Healthy veggies at-least 3 servings and a lean which is eggs Healthy protein like salmon chicken breasts turkey ect, so Yeah, Iv been inspired to do meal replacments not just by the program But by people on you-tube that aren't even on the program Look up impatient dieter she did it with meal replacement shakes and 2 normal healthy meals http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=pawl9ROAXWw enjoy!0

Real food for me0

Medifast that you are going to be selling is rubbish just like the rest. Try real food instead so you learn how to eat right.
Also the untube video says that eating lots of times a day speads up your metabloism which has been found to be untrue.0 -
This is not about my program this is about meal replacements in general!! k and its not a myth it does speed up your metab its been proved ask around im sure you can find something!0

Wrong! It doesn't speed it up, that has been debunked! Oh and you WERE talking medifast in the other thread and it's in your profile so sorry if I assumed you were still talking about it.0 -
I wouldsay if you choose to do it, stick to only replacing one meal a day. I did the Tony Ferguson diet and replaced my lunch with a shake. Ate a healthy big breakfast and a good sized dinner.0

If you are a busy individual keep the meal replacements handy just incase you are short on time... something is better than nothing.... but a diet built on meal replacements sounds like failure waiting to happen.... been there done that...0

Also you'd be very hard pressed to find proof (actual peer reviewed clinical studies) showing meal replacements "speed up" metabolism. Like I mentioned in my "gullibility" thread, some people get desperate for weight loss and fall for the propaganda that the diet industry offers. But why listen..................this is only my job for 29 years.

Eat real food. Use protein powder if you need to up your protein.0
-
No thanks. My mom does the Ideal Protein plan and it hasn't been sustainable for her. She will do ok for awhile, lose weight, get bored and she's back to making poor food choices again and the weight comes back. I think they are ok for one meal a day or so. But I can't do a whole program. What do you do after?0
-
I'd rather eat real food than drink the calories.0
-
Lol, OP insists stating that because the program has been around forever that it's not a scam.

and the reason they have been around forever is that there is always some desparate soul willing to give it a try, but it teaches them nothing about changing their eating habits for the rest of their life, so when they eat normally, and gain weight, they end up back on the meal replacements as it's the only thing that think "works" for them. a Vicious circle.0 -

How exactly does it speed up your metabolism?0 -
Interesting quote I found about Medifast, which is the meal replacement shake you are on
"In September 2012, Medifast's subsidiary, Jason Pharmaceuticals, paid a $3.7 million USD civil penalty as part of a consent decree with the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. The government agencies said that advertisements for the "Medifast 5 & 1 Plan" low-calorie diet told consumers they could "lose up to 2-5 pounds per week.", and that these weight-loss claims did not have a reasonable basis of support in scientific evidence."
Sooooooooo, what was that about speeding up your metabolism?0 -
I dont drink meal replacements but I do drink energy drinks when I am running late for lunch at work. (Some people try dying when it is lunch time; I am a nurse).
I think it is way better to eat real food but if it comes down to nothing or something, I go with something.0 -
I have a friendly observation. I've been loitering around these message boards for 3 months, and I've seen you post several times about these fad diets. With eating a little better, eating a little less, and exercising a little more, I've already lost almost 20lbs. Why don't you try just following what mfp sets up for you? According to your counter you haven't lost anything, I'll bet you could have been a lot closer to your goal by now if you would just start with the basics instead of focusing on all of these quick fix methods.
Edit- I forgot to quote. This was directed to the OP.0 -
Calories in.. Calories out.. Whatever works best for you! Who cares?0
-
naa they have side effects, seems like it caused you to have an acute case of duckface. see a doctor and eat real food. case closed.0
-
What is the point of meal replacement? You going to eat like this the rest of your life? I can see protein shakes, balance bars, etc. as handy things to grab quickly, but as a lifestyle choice daily? Maybe for a time have a shake to replace a meal daily to reach a goal, but eventually one has to learn to eat correctly or the weight just comes back on.
Think I did weight loss clinic for a couple months. That was a total waste of $$$. They didn't do meal replacement but super low cal, etc. MFP or caloriecount at about.com would have been much more effective and CHEAPER.
I am responsible for what I choose to eat.0 -
