Does anyone have a good website or any ideas for smoothie recipes for diabetics?? Adding fruit seems to make the sugar level sky high. Thanks!

Hi there! I'm a T2 diabetic. A body reacts differently to natural sugars than it does to bad sugars (like high fructose corn syrup, etc). Natural fruit is very good for you. EAT IT. Putting sugar in your all natural fruit smoothie-- bad idea. Go with some natural fruit, ice, and sugar free/diet fruit juice.0

Adding fruit like strawberries and blueberries will have much less effect on your sugar levels.
I enjoy a smoothie a few times per week, here is my recipe:
1 cup strawberries (I use frozen, then thaw slightly in microwave)
1/4 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1-2 tsp olive oil
(if you want to beef up the protein, then toss in about 7g of plain protein powder)0 -
3 chunks of frozen banana
10 oz of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
2 tbls peanut butter
Flax seed0
