I have a question for everyone, do you eat all your allotted calories daily? I feel like I have hit a wall, but I feel its because I don't eat enough. I'm full all the time but the calories are not high enough. Does anyone have tips on upping my caloric intake?

If youre not hungry then dont eat. Doesnt do any good if you puke it all back up.0 -
Eat things that are high in good fats like avocado, full fat dairy, nuts/seeds, nut butters, olive oil/coconut oil, whole eggs etc..0

I can eat 1,700 calories before exercise. However I generally work out at least 1.5 hours daily. I'm worried about starvation mode. Most days I have a hard time eating 1,200 calories and I feel this has led to my slow metabolism.0

I guess sometimes it's easy to fall short in meeting my goals for one day or so, this always the result of being busy or pre-occupied with other things. But i guess if health is a priority for you, you just need to put in a bit more effort in finding ways in meeting your calorie target. However there's a difference between being short a few hundred calories vs. slashing your calories in half.
Are you eating a lot of high fiber, low calorie foods? If that's the case i'd take up the recommendation of adding a lot more fats and protein into your diet. Peanut butter and olive oil can do wonders and are so delicious.
If it's just a matter of missing or skipping meals, its best that you plan ahead, like the day before or first thing in the morning if you wish and nip this thing in the bud
ETA: 1.5 hours? maybe you've developed a suppressed appetite? Is much of it cardio, if so cut back a bit?0 -
If you are allotted 1700 and aren't meeting that and then exercising as much as you say you are, then I would say that you've hit a wall because you aren't getting enough calories. To answer your question, yes. I eat my allotted calories and usually most of my exercise calories. As others have said try eating the higher calorie foods like nuts, avocado, peanut butter and full fat cheeses, mayo, yogurt etc. One ounce of full fat cheddar is over 100calories by itself.0

It would be more useful to someone helping if you opened your diary when asking for help on what you eat and calories.
You said you have trouble eating 1200 calories...is it because you're not hungry or just scared to eat? Eat calorie dense/nutrient dense food if you can't eat as much in way of volume. There are several good foods that have a ton of calories for very little food, nuts or peanut butter come to mind.
As far as starvation mode, which you mentioned, doubtful you're going to experience anything like that, or unless you've been abusing yourself for a long period of time and just now posting about it, I doubt you have any kind of metabolism issue.
You're working hard and your body needs food. I get that sometimes you're not hungry and don't make your calorie goal, but as long as you're on track more times than not, you're going to be fine. Being off for a little bit isn't going to automatically shut down your system, the human body is a bit smarter than that.0 -

This. Starvation mode happens when someone with low body fat eats very few calories for a long time. Still, your body does need fuel especially if you're working out that much.
To answer the question, sometimes, like today, I end up way under on calories (257 today). But that's because I'm not feeling well. On a normal day I'll eat all or close to all of them.0 -

I am there with you! So full by end of day!
I've been only doing this for a week, but I did a report and saw my calories sliding down further and further from my target every day - leaving me a few hundred calories short and getting worse.
I think this is for a couple of reasons:
a) I've never drank so much water in my LIFE and it's filling me up!
b) I tend to get obsessed about things and want to do bigger better faster
So I decided if I'm short, I WILL have that yoghurt, or hot chocolate before bed.
If that doesn't bump me right up to the 1200, well at least I am a bit closer to it and also I don't get into the habit of trying to 'beat' my target every day.
I'm no expert, but that's my mindset with it all0 -
Cheese, milk, peanut butter, walnuts...full fat dressing on my salads...guacamole...eggs...Hersheys chocolate cheesecake....those are some of my favorite ways to add extra calories. Everything except the cheesecake adds good nutrients to your diet, and cheesecake is just good. If you are not keen on those options, you could start using more olive oil and other healthy oils in your cooking. I'm a big believer that fat is not your enemy.0
