south beach diet

so i was looking into the south beach diet and i was thinkin about doing it but i'm not really sure what it is. so if anyone knows anything about it please let me know :) my main thing is that if you have to eat alot of meat like the akins diet i don't want to do it.. i really don't like meat.

    Hey Im starting this diet with a co-worker today. I dont like meat and from what I can tell so far I can probably continue to do without it! Go get the book and look at all your food option, there a pretty huge selection. I think the general idea is to help you learn to eat healthier and get away from carbs which is what I need.     You don't have to eat meat at all if you don't want to. It's a vegetable based diet, but encourages 2 oz protein at breakfast and 3 oz at lunch and dinner, along with the required amount of veg and other things. If you are still hungry, you can eat more. If you're not, don't.
