south beach diet

so i was looking into the south beach diet and i was thinkin about doing it but i'm not really sure what it is. so if anyone knows anything about it please let me know my main thing is that if you have to eat alot of meat like the akins diet i don't want to do it.. i really don't like meat.

Hey Im starting this diet with a co-worker today. I dont like meat and from what I can tell so far I can probably continue to do without it! Go get the book and look at all your food option, there a pretty huge selection. I think the general idea is to help you learn to eat healthier and get away from carbs which is what I need. You don't have to eat meat at all if you don't want to. It's a vegetable based diet, but encourages 2 oz protein at breakfast and 3 oz at lunch and dinner, along with the required amount of veg and other things. If you are still hungry, you can eat more. If you're not, don't.0
