What do you do to feel good about yourself??

My wife has a 'Dreams' and 'Inspiration' pots with coloured glass beads. For every pound she wants to lose, there is a glass bead in the 'Dreams' pot. For every pound she loses, she moves a bead from it to the 'Inspiration' pot. When she's down about her weight loss, she looks at the pots and it reminds her that what she's doing IS working.
I like to look in a mirror and point out all the things I like about myself, that generally helps0 -
Completing a planned workout
Dressing up
Actually leaving my house on a saturday to see friends0 -
I like to accomplish as much as I can in a day. Getting things done makes me feel good. Also, I agree with getting "dressed". The better I look, the better I feel.0

I take a shower. I know it seems simple, but It makes me feel cleansed in a way. Once my body is clean. I start to feel better right away.

Having a tan, my nails done and all dressed up for a night out0

- get dressed up, try on my nice clothes
- wash and straighten my hair
- have a long bath
- go to the gym
- sit and relax with a cup of coffee and my Kindle
*I don't get to do most of these very often, apart from the gym, as I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old!0 -
I go boxing. When I'm done I feel kick *kitten* and powerful and ready to take on anything!0

What do you do for confidence? What makes you feel good about yourself?
Anything that gives a sense of accomplishment, whether it's kicking *kitten* in a workout, finally getting around to getting all the laundry put away, decorating (rearranging furniture, hanging new art, painting the walls), creating something (painting, sewing, crafting), and when all else fails, putting on the brightest red lipstick I own.0 -
a long run! Coming home sweaty and breathless makes me feel awesome...its a bit of the endorphins and knowing I just kicked major butt! I will feel good all day after this!0

I've never been a girly girl, but I found that taking care of myself in small ways - painting my nails, doing my hair, putting on makeup - have helped me feel more comfortable in my own skin. Part of this change I'm making is learning how to love myself. These little ways of showing myself I'm valued definitely help boost my confidence.
Oh, and it's super fun to paint my nails and do my hair with my boyfriend's daughter.0 -
I have to admit, I'm the opposite of most of the women here. Dressing up and putting on make-up or doing my hair makes me feel stressed and actually make-up makes me feel worse about myself because I can remember a time when I didn't need to use moisturizer and primer before my foundation.... or concealer under my eyes.
For me it's definitely got to be going to the spa for a massage, manicure, pedicure, or to have someone else do something with my unruly hair. I feel like a new person afterwards and it definitely helps my self-confidense, especially after a massage - spending 60 minutes mostly naked in front of a stranger while they lavish you with attention is always a good ego boost.0 -
Dancing around the house like a dork :laugh:0

Taking the time to primp before I go somewhere - makeup, hair, nails, etc. I find that when I really take the time on my physical appearance, I feel pretty awesome. Also, music. When a kick *kitten* song comes on my iPod, I dance around my room and that leaves me feeling fabulous.0

Dressing up, a mani and buying a new outfit. Oh and I felt amazing about myself after my appointment with my trainer yesterday when he called me a mini-hulk for being able to do 100 pounds on the leg press/squatting machine. So yeah, there are plenty of ways. :P0

I actually like going shopping....i like trying on things and stepping out of the change room to check out the full length....mostly because the few times I've done that, I've had serious double takes.....thanks to going in wearing baggy clothing and coming out in something fitted....
