I have a question...too sauce or not? If it is smoked to perfection do you still add sauce to just leave the meat to speak for itself?

No sauce! Why cover up a perfectly tasty piece of meat?!

    Mmmm, ribs.....

Love grilling and using the smoker.

Made up some nice venison backstrap wrapped in bacon last night. Can't wait for lunch time to eat the leftovers.

I realize this is a fitness website, but I have to tell you the best BBQ ever!!! It's fresh cut fries, tossed with the same dry rub that goes on the meat, covered with whatever meat you choose ( but really, pulled pork is the only thing I can imagine on it) then topped with melted cheese sauce and a squirt of the homemade sweet BBQ ( or spicy depending on your palate).
It's called The Fully Loaded and you can get it in Albany Missouri at B & B BBQ!!!
They even have a facebook page! LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEE:drinker:

I find I lack the patience to do my own BBQ, not to mention I live in the city. But luckily there are multiple excellent BBQ joints nearby, so I can walk down, order up some ribs and a beer while enveloped int he smell of wood smoke and pretend I could have done better. :drinker:

Right here! Kansas City BBQ is the best!
Oklahoma Joe's, specifically, is THE best!

I like Gates the best, then LC's, then Bryant's. I have never been to Oklahoma Joes'. it's on the KS side, and I don't do KS!

In NC, BBQ only means smoked pork - either whole hog, or pork butt --- typically chopped. Nothing else really counts as bbq.

Example - if you go into a restaurant and order the bbq plate or bbq tray, you're getting chopped smoked pork.

    Vinegar based, mmmmhmmm! yeah buddy!

I'm a KC sauce kind of guy - more tomato than vinegar. Tougher, but not impossible to find down here.

I love BBQ as well! I grew up in Texas, so I always assumed that BBQ = beef. I quickly learned that east of Texas, BBQ = pork. That said, I do love me some pulled pork!

In KC, BBQ means we got some meat in the pit! We'll BBQ anything, beef, pork, chicken...
  • Smoked short ribs mmmmmm

Cool deal. I'm a KCBS member, not interested in competing. Only joined to get access to Restaurant Depot.

    kansas city checking in.

Pulled pork and burnt ends are usually my go to.
  • Only if you're talking about REAL bbq..... not "grilling".

We have a komodo smoker and bbq every weekend.

Also, I live in North Carolina, and we know bbq.

I've got a kamado too, great smokers, grill and pizza makers!
