i notice the lack of definition if i go on vacation and dont get to use it for a week
That's all I needed to hear
If it was real muscle definition, it wouldn't disappear in only a week.0 -

And longtimeterp - I'd love to see a picture of your "obliques". This is one area we all have pretty well developed, they're just under a layer of fat. I work very hard, eat mostly clean, and you can just make mine out. I don't know your angle on this, but stop screwing with people and give them real information and real motivation.
i have no angle, i'm just saying it works really well for me, speaking from my personal experience using it. i'm sorry you disagree, but without using it i don't think your have much ground to stand on...as for pics, im not that comfortable yet, i did weigh 280lbs just last year, and there is skin and stretchmarks, and i'm not saying i have 6pack abs from it, im saying i noticed a difference and i have been skinny twice before and never saw any real ab definiton no matter the exercises, this time around, i notice a huge difference and i personally don't feel my ab would be starting to look anywhere near anything at all without it.
i don't know your angle on telling me it doesn't work when for me it does...0 -
This, doesn't even make sense. If you go on vacation, and this belt is so amazing, why not take it with you? It's more likely you would take it with you and use it when you're around the hotel, settling in for the night, or whatever than to take time from your vacation and do crunches, planks, etc.
because a) when i go on vacation i tend to get drunk and lose stuff a lot and b) its a vacation i dont wanna exercise0 -

really, cause when i don't get to the gym for a week, i can see less of a pump everywhere...chest, shoulders, arms, legs...all of it if loses definition...
well, i can't remember the last time i went a week without the gym actually...but back when i did i would notice a difference0 -
My husband had one. We just threw it away cos it didn't work for him. Adding extra protein to his diet and weights to his workout did though.
I had a female friend at university who had one and she liked it. She was superfit, had some definition to start with as she had really low bodyfat. She said it added an extra something on top of the diet and exercise programme she followed. She was kind of an insane fanatic about things though.
This i can agree with, it doesnt work for everybody i am sure. but like your friend, i feel it undoubtedly adds something extra!0 -
oh wait- you meant - does taking a shortcut to get me the results I want without doing the work required make sense?
still NO0 -
also a side note, costco sells these, and they have the BEST return policy in the business and fully stand behind everything they sell, if it didn't work they wouldn't still sell em cause too many people would return it..

you are training far more than is required to be strong and look good.0 -
it uses the exact same principal as the electro-muscle stimulation i underwent on my leg during physical therapy from knee surgery. So my pt was taken too? i am saying i can see and fee the results, so can people who have seen my abs. never before in my life have i had any sort of oblique shape. Also, i notice the lack of definition if i go on vacation and dont get to use it for a week or more. it tones and strengthens the stomach muscles which does provide for a slightly leaner look and somewhat looser fitting pants. i don't feel taken at all. i'm sorry you feel that way, i am only speaking from my personal experience with the device for over a year now.
Essential fact: "during physical therapy from knee surgery". Completely different conditions than trying to "strengthen" a normal muscle. A modality that is effective/accepted practice for use on an injury (and BTW the electro stim done during therapy is not done to strengthen the muscle) often has no value for a healthy person.
It is a common trick in the fitness "business" to use a machine/technique/supplement that is designed for a specific medical purpose and try to "generalize" that to the normal population. The fact that it has efficacy for an unrelated condition provides the veneer of credibility.
That's why it is a scam.0 -

i own it and it works for me...not a scam0 -

yeah but i want to do a full marathon, a triathalon, and an ironman 70 in the next 1.5 years, and an ultra marathon and a full iron in the next 3, and the more i train the less time i have to eat and the more i can eat in that time that i have!0 -
Okay, so STOP doing the ab exercises, and use JUST the device for a couple months, then get back to us. That's the only way to determine whether it is actually the cause of your improvement.
i started using the belt well over a year ago, before my stomach had enough definition to merit ab exercises...(and honestly i hate doing em, i only do em like once a week cause the belt works so well). and using the belt has drastically increaded the endurace i have when i do crunches/lifts etc.
i don't sell these things btw, i actually own two, because i bought the active model that has 3 additional programs and goes up to intensity 130 being so satisfied with the flex model after using it for 8 months. It's worth EVERY CENT.
also a side note, costco sells these, and they have the BEST return policy in the business and fully stand behind everything they sell, if it didn't work they wouldn't still sell em cause too many people would return it..
If you read the product reviews, many of the people who buy it use it only to relieve muscle pain; anyone who says they have experienced "results" also adds "I have also been following a diet".
The fact: the way that muscles work, the amount of electrical stimulation it would take to achieve a truly meaningful and effective muscle contraction would kill you.
So, the fact that the people who use these devices are still walking about alive is prima facie evidence of their ineffectiveness.0 -
Definitely a scam0

i just dont think people should say whether or not something works without trying it. i dont need attention thanks, this is just a fitness product i feel reallllly strongly about and i hate hearing things bashed on by people who have no experience with them. I realize everyone has an opinion, but an informed opinion is a much better one to base a decision on then an assumed opinion. i will go run along now, prolly like 8 miles, and then when im done ill put on my ab belt while i make a healthy lunch.0 -

3. stop trying to get my attention
4. stop trying in PM too0 -
Very interesting comments. Thank you for your replies0

My friend tried something like this ... she wanted a quick fix. It was pretty much garbage. It may work for some, but I would rather just do the crunches.0
-
I wear it on my head, to bulk up my brain.0

using it again right now, it still works! :-)0

In reply to the OP
I own one
tried it for a month or so
It did not work for me,
crunches are so much better and free:happy:0
