Toddler Workout?

Do you know of any good websites, books or videos of workouts I can do with a toddler? The more challenging and fun, the better! I have had almost no time to workout this week, so I'm trying to get some workouts in at work. I am a nanny of a 18 month old. We had a big snow storm this week and it has been pretty cold, so our outside time is limited. I've been doing baby yoga for a while, but I only know a few kid friendly variations and YouTube has not been too helpful.

I have no answer for you, but your subject line brought to mind the funniest images of bench pressing kids, or running with a toddler strapped to each leg. Thank you for entertaining me, and my slightly warped mind.0

I have done Jillian Michael's dvds with my kids around and they just attempt to do the same thing as me. We have some teenie 1 lb dumbells that they will use. It's pretty cute. My kids were slightly older than 18 months, but not by much when I started doing this. Granted, their attention span might not last much beyond 15 min, but that's better than nothing! Now my little guy will attempt to do crunches and pushups at the strangest times.0

I had a workout DVD like this! Well, it was a "new mommy" workout so it was babies and not toddlers, but yeah, you used the baby as a weight. Only did it once, my daughter was... uncooperative. I still bench press her though, she's 3 and thinks it's hilarious.
For the OP, I like playground workouts, but that's not going to help if you live somewhere with snowstorms already. You can Zumba with toddlers, or look for bodyweight workouts - the small child will climb all over you and act like a weight vest, perfect to up your intensity. (Not actually joking here, mine also thinks it's highly amusing to climb on my back while I'm doing pushups and yell, "giddyap!") The other advantage to most bodyweight routines is that they're usually quick - you can do 10 minutes here and there, and get in a really good workout before the kid starts climbing the walls.
Good luck!0 -
Maybe some Wii games? My 4 year old loves to do "Just Dance" and like some of the Wii sports too.0

I put my neices (1.5 years) on my lap and do squats with them. They love it. Not a whole workout, but your legs and core get an awesome burn.0

I cant think of what the actual programme is called, maybe someone else can help with this, but for one hour a week my two children (4.5 and 1) attend an alphabet and numbers based class where you make letter and number shapes with your body; its fun and thats an hour! I am sooooo glad my children have long names as spelling their names out take up most of the class! I will pnder what it is called but my minds a blank at the moment.0

I have a 2.5 yar old and each day she tells me its time to do our exercises. She does pushups, jamoing jacks, pretends to jump rope and boxes. She will last the first 10 mins or so of a dvd then sit on the couch with a snack and yell "you can do it" to me.
Maybe the easiest thing is just to put on some music and jump about like a fool. or maybe teach her some basic dance moves? we dance to the Wiggles all the time.0 -
Lay on your back, bend your knees, have the kid sit on your feet, hold their hands and push them up in the air.0

Haha for some reason this video came to mind as soon as I read your thread title:

I have two year old twins, and carrying them both up and down the stairs is a pretty good workout (around 60lbs). I'll also hold one and do jump squats, which they LOVE. I'll also do planks with them on my back and a kind of reverse crunch with them lying on my lower legs.0

I have been known to curl my 7 year old. Does that count?0
