Hi
I need some help! I have real trouble staying of unhealthy snacks at the moment. I eat healthy meals and fruit, but when I have been to the gym, I seem to be unable to tell myself to steer clear of chocolates. It's almost like going to the gym entitles me to eat the unhealthy foods. It's a bit of a vicious circle and I find it so hard to break, especially now that the weather is getting colder.
Any tips anyone? I am not losing weight and I know why, but I still can't break this cycle!!!!! Aaaargh!!!!!!

My husband loves loves loves sweets so we always have dark chocolate in the house. I treat myself to at least one square of dove dark chocolate almost every day. Don't deprive yourself by not having it at all but do it in a healthier way. Darker chocolates are healthier than the milk. So go for the dark and get the little squares. One square is only 43 calories. I also eat those 90 calorie fiber one brownies. Just avoid those big snickers bars or a big hershey bar. Go smaller and healthier. I never feel deprived.0

I was basically going to write what she wrote! lol. Don't deprive yourself completely, just work on portion control and maybe finding healthier alternatives.0 -
Thanks, will try that. I just need to keep my eyes on what I am aiming for.
I think just writing this down has actually helped. It's out in the open now... At least that what is feels like.0 -
Are you eating large amounts of chocolate?
Chocolate is not unhealthy - it's the quantity that matters. If you can't control the amounts then, yes, steer clear. But I eat chocolate every day and it does not impact my fitness or weight loss negatively - it keeps me sane.
With regards to what you call "unhealthy snacking", If it fits within your macros and is less than 10-15% of your total calories it's fine. Consider it the fun part of doing things right.0 -
I love Gretchen Rubin's The Happiness Project. She has a section on deciding if you are a moderator or abstainer. I'm an abstainer so cannot have anything near me that is tempting...however, some people can consume treats in moderation. Hope this link helps.

I am quite bad at stopping myself once I start. The only chocolate I find I can stop myself eating is chilli chocolate.
Unfortunately, chocolate is not my only weakness, I also love savoury snacks... Anything really that is not healthy...0 -
Hi - not sure if you are in the uk or not - but I have muller light yoghurts with the chocolate bits!! They really taste creamy and just gives me that chocolate fix without me feeling guilty - as I know a can't just eat a square of chocolate without finishing the whole bar!! Hope that helps!0

Thanks for that. I will have a look at this. Not sure if I am strong enough to be an abstainer!0
