  • Advice #1. Quality of life is a LOT better in the Air Force. Anyone who has been in any of the branches will confirm this. It makes a difference.
Advice #2. Get a guaranteed job. Your recruiter will tell you that you can be an X, Y, or Z, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Get the MOS/AFSC/Whatever job you want guaranteed IN WRITING! You don't want to spend four years washing dishes for a living and if you're not one of the smart people who get a good job guaranteed, you'll be one of the dumb ones who gets the left-overs.
Advice #3. Recruiters lie. They will say and do whatever they can to get you in as fast as possible before you reconsider. Don't go fast because the recruiter wants you to!

As far as your weight goes, master your body before you enlist! You can get healthy and in shape all on your own. This place is chock full of success stories. You don't need the military to be healthy and fit. The military can be a great doorway to opportunity, education, career, self-discipline, etc. But unless you want or need all that, join a gym :-)

This I have heard! I am going Army Strong.. LOL :) and my recruiter seems to know a lot and seems legit! But of course, as you said, they will make you believe what you want to hear. I'm not to far off from my qualified weight but its definitely nice to be thinner!

Okay, good deal! Go in there and support and defend the constitution for us, keep us safe! Thank you in advance for the adventure you're about to go on :-)

Now, eat right, work out, and watch those pounds melt away :-D
