I've got a lot of muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat, that's why I weigh this much.

    I'll start tomorrow
    I'll just have one
    I'm not that unfit

But biggest lie, I'm happy the way I am.

    i don't have a drinking problem.

    i'm a social drinker!

    it makes me charming.

I used to believe this too...but eventually, my wife convinced me of the truth...and that is, when I drink, I become obnoxious(er).

Oh, I told myself this one today after eating my calories before 3:00 p.m. " I just won't eat any supper or evening snack." Yeah, right!

    Lies...

I don't look as heavy as I really am. Also: Other people don't think I am fat.

I may be overweight but I am not actually "obese."

I may be overweight but I am healthy.

People should like me for who I am, how dare they suggest I need to lose weight or criticize my choices.

I am too busy doing more important things to make the time to exercise.

I already know about nutrition, make healthy choices, and don't really eat that much, anyway.

I will never get to my goal weight so why break my heart trying? (Still struggling with this one.)

I don't care how I look. I am comfortable with my size.

I will start dieting on Monday. On Monday, I would tell myself, "I will eat what I want today, I can start tomorrow."

"I carry my weight well. I don't look as if I weigh 240 pounds." I would look at pictures of myself and freak out!

"My husband loves me no matter what"

While this certainly isn't a lie, it was the biggest excuse I used. Another good one (this is a lie)

"I'm a stay at home mom, and mom's don't have time to worry about their appearance."

Yep, me too. Also "the kids take up all of my time, so I can't work out." LIE.

"This is my body's happy weight."

    "My metabolism is shot."

"I'm just not meant to be a runner."

"I look good for someone in her late 30s who doesn't work out."
(Which was true, but I look much better as someone in her 40s who does.)

    I'm not that fat.

I'm too poor to change my diet. (Technically, I am still too poor to change my diet too much. That doesn't give me an excuse to over-eat at every meal regardless.)

    I'm happy where I am. (I wasn't. I really, really wasn't.)

And the biggest one - 150 isn't that much different than 120. But on a barely 5'1 frame, yes - yes it is that different. It was only when my clothes began to not fit me that I had to face reality. And even THEN I didn't face the facts until the cat peed on the single pair of pants I had that fit, thus leaving me pantless and traipsing about in shorts with a hairband around the loops.

    I'll just have one.
    I'll start tomorrow.
Those pants just got our of the dryer, that's why they're so tight.
I don't have a thyroid, I'll never be skinny again.

    My "lies":

I carry my weight well, so it isn't an issue.

I'm not really interested in being the "active" type.

I tried th gym membership thing, and it wasn't for me because I'm not that "type".

    I have big boobs.

    It's because I'm so tall.

I was never meant to be skinny.

The camera adds 10 pounds.... or 30!

That line always reminds me of the episode of Friends when they were watching old videos from when Monica was still fat. They were giving her a hard time about how she looked and she said, "Shut UP! The camera adds ten pounds!" Chandler said, "So, how many cameras were actually on you?!"
