Has anyone used them? If you have do they work? My husband bought them for me and was seeing if any one here has used them and what is your thoughts were on them.

I have a shake weight and use it a couple of times a week. I have it under the couch and use it off and on while watching t.v. My teenage children find my using the shake weight disturbing and amusing. Like with any piece of fitness equipment it only works when you work it.0

I prefer my Tug Toner, tbh.0

It's honestly pretty pointless. Most muscles should be worked through a range of motion. )0

I have one, but don't use it enough to say whether you get any good results from using it regularly. I do feel like I've worked out after using it though...0

I love how in ANY video captured of people using this it's always the women who get especially naughty looks on their faces.
Anyway. I've never used one but I would question it's usefulness. How heavy is it? What are you doing with it besides holding it in place? I would just get some proper dumbbells and use those. :P0 -

I would thank him for his thoughtfulness and return them or re-gift them. Another vote for simple hand weights.0

The best part is the shake weight has a mirror on the top so you can practice your 'O' face while you are 'working out'.0

i'm pretty sure i know why you're husband bought you one. :flowerforyou:0

It's all in the technique and smooth, rythmic motions. That's the key to shake weight mastery.0

The shake weight works as far as its claims go as it is based on techniques that work very similar to isometrics, which are an effective form of exercise. The issue isn't with effectiveness but its safety. The motion created by the shake weight, the constant vibration-like pace of it, places a lot of unnatural stress on tendons and ligaments in the arms and shoulders, especially in the shoulders, which can lead to severe injuries later on down the line. Stay away for safety's sake.0

I've used it once, I didn't know you had to do it for a long time. It's tough!0
