one serving is 1/2 cup of regular pasta and only 150 calories. Don't get people trying to substitute with gross stuff. Just eat a portion and enjoy.
If you think they are gross, you probably didn't prepare them correctly. You need to rinse them THOROUGHLY for 5+ minutes in as hot of water your sink can do. After they are rinsed and drained, cook them in a large dry saute pan for 5+ minutes until the outside of them are dry. If you actually do these 2 steps correctly, they don't have any odor, or any strange taste. They absorb the flavors that you cook them in.
Definitely worth it when 1/2 cup.. heck, 50 cups of them are 0 calories. You just have to make sure you start it right to have a great finished product. I have a recipe on here for Vietnamese Seafood Pho that uses them. There is also a Pad Thai recipe floating around the forums that is pretty great.0 -
you should be eating more calorie dense foods. This is kind of embarassing. Do they contain nutrition at all - or are they just something with no calories and no point in eating them other than to be able to eat?

i boil mine in chicken broth for few minutes then dry pan fry them with whatever i have on hand....yum!

I used to love these... but for whatever reason, I really can't eat them anymore. *sigh* I think it's because I briefly went back to normal noodles... :noway:0

get the real shirataki noodles, you can find them at asian markets. those are 0 calories. rinse them first and dry cook them0

It comes in a liquid... so you drain it, and just pan fry them (with no oil or anything) until they're dry. Takes about 5 - 7 minutes.0 -

After you rinse them thoroughly, drain them, and put them in a dry saute pan and cook on high for 5+ minutes until the outside of the noodles are completely dry. It finishes taking the fishy smell off the noodles and slightly changes the texture so that they are more appealing for the average person.0 -

There are tons of recipes out there that use the tofu noodles in place of real pasta. I tried the tofu noodles and thought they were OK, but never really liked them. Broccoli slaw, on the other hand... YUM!
It's not for everyone, but who cares? If you like it, go for it. I like my pasta loaded up with lots of meat and sauce, so substituting out the calorie-dense pasta for something else that I like just as much but is lighter in calories just makes sense to me.0 -
It's not for everyone! Yes they have nutrients google them. they're great, and they absorb really well - so sometimes I make them in chicken broth... yummm0

Angel hair is just a type of pasta noodle. Fettucini..etc...their nutrition is pretty much the same regardless of the shape of the noodle...and I just pulled it from the Miracle Noodle website. Dunno if that matters any.0 -

They are great! I use them when I make homemade soups, etc. One thing I did learn cut the longer noodles in half prior to cooking them.....to prevent choking = it happened to me. Maybe it's just a "me thing" but wanted to share this info with you. Otherwise, yes they are low in calories and not bad tasting (the smell of them is bad but rinse well with water then cook them). there's different shirtaki noodles. The tofu ones actually have tofu in them. I'd probably give it a whirl if it helped me hit my macros better than wheat pasta...
also, sometimes i have gluten allergies that are a problem.

I live in Virginia, USA and have found these in the local Asian Market. Ask for Shiritaki Noodles or Tofu noodles, and you can probably find them. They are awesome!!0

Same, but I didn't try dry frying them. I wish I had - then I might still be able to consider them again. The taste and texture was awful!0
