Calculating how much you just lifted

Well hi. I've been lifting for a while, but I'm not sure how to measure how MUCH I've lifted. I don't know if I include the weight of the bar (they weigh 45lbs) in addition to the weights added, or the plates alone. I've been including the weight of the bar as well as the plates I used.
Example:
2 25lb plates= 50 lbs
2 25lbs plates + 45lb bar= 95lbs <---This is what I do.
Which is the proper weight lifted?

Actually, 2 25lb plates and a 45 lb bar is 95 lbs =p

I add everything, including the bar...
NOW IN A SEPARATE note...
I am contemplating for "measuring" purposes what is the total weight lifted per muscle group
then the total weight lifted on any given workout...
then for intensity purposes... the weight divided by time.... total weight/mins = intensity factor
Given the premise that the more intense the "better" results... not a proven theory... just something to have a reference and see how it works..0 -
The bar and the plates. If you're doing squats, don't include your body weight.0
