What can you do in 3 months?

I have lost 46 pounds

My blood pressure has dropped 15-20 points from a pre hypertension classification to a normal classification

My energy level is at an all time high and I am not finding it difficult to get up and exercise every morning at 6AM.

My fitness has increased from struggling to get in 2.25 to 2.5 miles in 30 minutes to today having ran a 10k on the treadmill in under 60 minutes. I am most proud of this as I am 6'2" with a large frame that is not built for running.

I have gained muscle in all of my core and my spare tire is well with in reach of being gone.

I still have a couple more months and 20-30 pounds to go but this is starting to get to be fun instead of a chore.

I love it to - especially since work has been crazy (30+ nights in a hotel eating in nothing but restraunts) - I have not starved myself (I am averaging over 1900 calories a day) - and most importantly my dedication to the treadmill has not waned and I am finding time to exercise at least 6 times a week.

I have to admit I am almost giddy today as 225 is a major milestone for me and a far cry from the 275 i was at XMAS last year.

Wow, congrats!! In 3 months exactly, I've lost 16 lbs. and I have far more energy than I did when I started. As far as measurements, I only got measured two months in but the total of inches I've lost all over is 8 1/2. My double chin is gone...my love handles are almost completely gone. I'm fitting into clothes that I was telling myself I fit into and clothes before that I told myself I'd never fit into (Medium workout shirts and stretchy skirts? Hello! I haven't been a medium in 6 years!!!)... I used to be able to eat 2 scrambled eggs full of chicken, cheese, peppers and onions, PLUS toast, PLUS bacon, PLUS whatever else I could find. YOGURT. Now I eat 2 eggs with peppers and onions, maybe tomatos, some fruit, and I'm good!

You mention how far you can run on the treadmill now... my endurance has SKYROCKETED!! When I first started doing intervals, I would last maybe 30 seconds running... I had to force myself to get a quarter of a mile at 5.0mph. Last night, I focused on my breathing and I went up to 5.5mph and ran a quarter of a mile and felt like I could go forever!!

I can run up 2 flights of stairs with my dog and not think to myself "He's gonna beat me again"... I can almost beat him!!!

I go to the gym in my tightest work out clothes, check myself out in the mirror and think, "I look GOOD"... when 3 months ago, I would check myself out and think, "That has to go...that should be smaller... GOD, how'd I let myself go so easily?"

WAY TO GO!! That's amazing. I've lost 8.5 lbs in less then two. But the better news is the 3.5 inches that fell off my waste! Another 3 from my hips! It's amazing that those inches just vanish. Although we know it's hard work; the result is so rewarding. Pants that are so loose they might as well be comfy pants. I've counted every calorie and nowadays food really doesn't have the same effect. Naturally I fit chocolate in my day but I bring healthy good food to work instead of cruising the vending machine. Such a rewarding experience this has been. Good job everyone!

That's quite an accomplishment and, personally, it gives me a lot of hope. I started off about a month ago a bit above where you did - 282. I've lost 14 pounds and already feel better. It's taken me a while to make the transition to healthy eating - it's a journey after all! - but I'm feeling really good this past week.

    Keep up the good work!

Way to go! I am right with you. I Have lost 44 pounds in 2 months and a week so shooting for 50 by end of April. But you are right I have more energy, sleeping better, and I am starting to enjoy my nightly workouts and such. Keep up the great work. Don
  • THAT'S AMAZING!!! Well done you!

I'm new this week to MFP and it's soooo good! I've lost 2lbs since Monday and it's only Thursday :)

I've lost a stone within the last year from just trying to reel in the snacks (I have a major sweet tooth and love crisps!!!), I also started horse riding lessons in August which has definitely toned up my legs/bum/tum and I LOVE IT! It's great exercise and I burn around 500 calories in my one hour lessons.

I've also started jogging 3 times a week over the past 6 weeks or so. I found it absolutely exhausting at first, could only run a hundred metres or so without struggling to breathe, but I can now run about 1/3 of a mile before I need to catch my breath, and run 1.5 miles at a time altogether :) (with a few "catch my breath" breaks!), but I do have mild asthma that adds to the difficulty breathing.

I'm now 10lbs off being the recommended weight for my height....and I have a beach holiday with my boyfriend (our first hol together) on May 24th.......so about 6.5 weeks away! And I'd LOVE to lose those last 10lbs before I go away so I can wear a bikini with confidence (I'm usually the one with 5 layers wrapped around me and running into the sea before anyone sees me!). I'm hoping MFP will help me get there :) it seems to be working so far, as I'd hit a bit of a wall.

I definitely feel a lot more energetic and motivated and looking forward to my holiday :)
  • In 3 months I have lost 35 lbs and got off both blood pressure meds and cholesterol meds. I am 2 sizes down in my close 3 links out of my watch, and I had to get -3/4" off of my wedding ring as it was just falling off everytime I put it on. My energy levels have increased though I still cant get up in the morning to workout..but thats just because I hate mornings. I am back to my athletic build and am able to run like I use to. Other benefits include being able to tie my shoes without gasping for breath, I can get out of my car without rocking back and forth a 3 or 4 times..haha. Its really amazing that if you ACTUALLY dedicate yourself and be faithful to the program how much you can lose. I and many other people on this site I'm sure can testify to that! Awesome job! Now for me I just entered tone up and maintain stage of this program..Lets do it! :glasses:

wow!!! that's FANTASTIC!!! Keep up the good work and thanks for the encouragement!! Sometimes when you don't see results overnight (like I'm sure everyone would love to) you just feel like it's never going to happen.....keep on truckin'!
  • "Keep in mind, ladies, men seem to lose weight easier!!"

This is one of my favorite quotes of all time because I am a man. I am in a competition with only ladies and in 3 months another GIRL has lost 43 lbs. Thats more than I have lost in 3 months at 35 lbs. Men are definately built different but the girl I'm in competition with is proof thats its not just men that lose quicker its anybody that is dedicated and gets rid of the excuses. Yes I'm a guy, yes I lost 35 lbs in 3 months and Yes I worked HARD to achieve these goals so the whole men lose it easier theory that women always throw in our face is thrown out the window in my book. I'm not hating on anybody by no means I love when I hear this because it inspires me to push even harder.

In order to succeed, you have to be better than your used to be!
