At the start, last January I ate 1500 everyday day irrespective of how much exercise I did. I lost approximately 1lb a week. In August 12, for health reasons I commenced 5:2 fasting which meant 2 days I was only eating 500, but I upped my calories on weekend to 1700. This meant I was averaging about 1250. I reached my goal of 126 lbs but then decided to readjust my goal to 119 and reached 121, but due to Christmas New Year have gained 3 lbs, so am still working on losing. Then I need to work out maintence including incorporating the 5:2 regime
I am 5 ft 4. 50 years old. Started at 12.4, 172lbs am now 8.13' 125 lbs. I swim 6 days a week and run 4. This has been my exercise regime for several years so I have gained and lost with this level of activity.
Hope this helps and good luck.0 -
I take in about 1440 calories0

My intake is 1200, but due to various reasons, I'm very sedentary. It got upped to 1300-1400 a couple times during the holidays though.0

My intake goal is 1400 cals. I'm 5'4" and currently weigh 160lbs and my ultimate goal is about 120-125 lbs0

About 1100 on a good day0

I currently weigh 130lbs and am aiming for 119 (although will likely stop at 122). My BMR is around 1350 as sedentary although I am a school teacher so should probably be lightly active. I therefore tend to eat around 1350-1450, however, I am probably a little under the last couple of days to shift the Christmas weight gain - although always over 1200.
Hope that helps0 -
Wow, interesting reading....
I'm 5'4, currently at 204lb, and MFP put my calorie intake at 1800, Maybe I should reduce it too 1500 coupled with excercise?
I work shifts as a Nurse, so dont often have three main meals. I am planning to use fruit in my snack breaks at work.0 -
I eat 2000. That's about 1700 for me and 300 because I'm breastfeeding. I run a few days a week and do various circuit training things almost every day.0

I am 5"4, weigh 172 lbs, my ultimate goal is 140 lbs. My goal calorie intake is 1510 but often less because I rarely eat that many calories. I am very active too.0

160 here. I eat (or really just aim to eat) 1470 + (50-100% of exercise cals). I only count intentional exercise as exercise (i.e. I don't count my routine 2ish miles of walking that I do as a city dweller, but I do count time at the gym)0

I eat 1500-1700 calories per day. Much less and I run out of energy. I'm 38 years old and I weigh 290.8.0

I eat 1,200 calories, if I exercise, maybe I'll treat myself, but other than that, 1,200 calories.0

Hey I take an intake of about 1200-1300 everyday regardless of weather I exercise or not xx0

Hello,
My daily intake is 1200 but varies 100 either way and is dependent on amount of activity.
Starting weight was 229lbs, target weight is around 129. My job is sedentary so try to do as much exercise as I can.
The key is to maintain your healthy food choices and regular exercise.0 -
I'm 5'4", 148lbs, size 8 and I eat 1700-2200 a day. I started at 186 and plateaued for months at 1500 cals. I have a sedentary job, but exercise regularly, including lifting weights 3-4 times a week.0

I don't suggest cutting down your calories that much. Eat (and love) the 1800 calories. You have a busy life, you need the calories. If you DID drop it to 1500 and exercised, you'd have to make sure that you ate back those calories.0 -
I'm 5'4 and 133 pounds. Currently, before working out, my goal is set at 1260. I work out pretty much daily and I try to eat at least some of those calories back, which puts me at about 1300-1500 a day. On top of that I allow myself one "free" meal per week. It keeps me sane.0

I'm 5'3.5 (believed I was 5'4 for years). Currently at 184, and I eat 1440 calories per day. My goal is set to 1 pound per week, and I lose 1 pound per week.
I was set for 1.5lbs per week, as I started at 220 and had 80lbs to lose. When I hit the 30 lbs lost mark, MFP gave me 1200 calories a day. I lasted 1 day at that mark, bumped it to 1220, lasted a few more days, and then changed my goal. I'm enjoying the food that I get to eat!
My job is a desk job, and I'm not very active at home, so I'm sedentary. I eat back at least half of my exercise calories.0 -
I try to stick to 1500 but on a few days will jump to as high as 1900 (cheat days: 1/week).0

I'm 5'4" 122 lbs and I eat 1400-1500 calories. I've been slowly upping my calories as I get closer to my goal weight of 110-115.0

I'm 5'5" and my MFP put my limit at 1200. ! checked in at 166lbs and I lost 10lbs in 6 weeks (then put on 1lb over Christmas - whoops!). If I exercise, I just make sure I eat my exercise calories as well to keep myself around 1200. I do go a little over and a little under that at times, but I've been pretty consistent. My goal is about 130lbs, so I'll increase calories to maintain my weight when I get there.0

You gals make me hungry I eat approx 2000 a day. I way 128ish and my body fat is still a bit higher than I'd like but I am pretty fit and active. With that said now that it is winter and cold and the most exercise I usually get is in the gym my calories are have been scaled back to around 1500-1700. I am not really trying to lose anymore weight but when I was losing I worked out at least 4 usually 5 days a week and never ate less than 2000 calories. You have to feed your body to lose fat or you will lose muscle.0

Goal is set to 1490 (to lose 1.5 lb/week), but since I am breastfeeding I eat ~1800. I wear a Fitbit so I sometimes eat back those calories if I'm more active than usual. If I'm less active I still try to stick to 1800 minimum so I don't impact my milk supply. My son is older and eating quite a few solid meals per day so I claim 300 cal/day for nursing instead of the recommended 500 cal/day when exclusively breastfeeding.0

Hiya I'm currently 159 pounds i've lost 13.5 pounds i tend to stick to around 1300 but do tend to eat back at least half my exercise cals. At the weekend i like to have a little more freedom and eat most or all my exercise cals.0
