Hi everyone, I joined yesterday. I'm looking to lose some fat that has started to accumulate around my middle. My weight is fine, but my jeans are telling me another story! Sadly I'm one of those people who never had a weight problem before and never worried about what I ate. Now that I turned 60 my metabolism seems to have shut down, so I need to work on my diet and exercise to get it moving again. I know this will be hard for me, but I'm determined. Looks like there is great support here so I'm ready to start.

I turned 60 August 2012. I was very heavy as a youngster, got active, watch diet lost alot of weight and have kept it off pretty much all these years. I know what you mean about your middle. I have been trying to step up my cardio and clean up my food. I really don't have much of the celullite thing going on but my belly just does not seem to change. My LDL is bad and I really hate the statins so I am trying supplements and juicing to get it down. I am an impulse eater so it is hard. I am looking for any help I can get.
  • It sure helps to know I'm not alone in dealing with this. Yesterday was a bust for me.....I ate as I normally would and the result was I would gain 1.5 pounds in a month if I continue to eat this way. So it's back to the drawing board for me - sugar is a big part of the problem - I'm cutting out orange juice, my one morning glass uses 26 of my 40 allowable calories!!!!

I also have high cholesterol and take meds (not statins) for it. Good luck and if I can help in any way let me know.
