Hey Everyone! I'm new here. I am determined to not be one of those people who makes a new years resolution and then gives it up a few days or weeks later. I have quite a bit of weight to lose - Probably around 120-130 pounds. I'm starting small because I've never even ATTEMPTED to lose weight before, but I'm slowly working my way up to a steady, but healthy regime
I'm counting calories and just started going to the gym, where I am walking briskly on the treadmill. I've switched to better food alternatives and cut out all soda - which was my complete downfall.
I'd love to make some new friends to share this journey with. My boyfriend is also dieting and working out but he is much healthier then I am and very stubborn about how we should lose weight. After finding this website and stalking you all in the forums, as well as doing some reading on my own I have come to the conclusion that his way is probably not the way I am going to choose to lose this weight. I'm more focused on losing in a healthy manner, switching up my lifestyle and keeping the weight off. He is all about eating as few calories as possible and losing a bunch of weight fast. That may work for him, but I have too much weight to lose for that to work properly - not to mention it doesn't seem healthy.
I have a little boy who is almost 2, and I am excited to start this journey to be a better and more active mom to him.
I'd love to see your food diaries to get some ideas and find new foods to try, as well as hear of any recipes. I LOVE to cook. I've discovered skinnytaste.com and I am so excited to try some of her amazing looking recipes.
Wow, I sure have rambled. Anyway, send me a message or a friend request. I'd love to meet some new people with the same goals as me!
Oh, and I'm in upstate NY if that makes any difference :-)
