Insanity People, Did you Skip Cardio Recovery?

Title says it all, - did you skip cardio recovery? Seems like it's not a great workout, kind of a waste of time....I know it's to "recover" but I'm not sure I need two days a week of recovery (including rest day). Is it important to do it? Thanks!

Have you tried it? From what I remember it was almost as bad as everything else.

I did try it. My legs were pretty tired, but overall calorie burn, it seemed kind of like a waste of time.

    I don't know, I think I'd rather do a different weights workout!

It's on my schedule for today, so maybe I'll try it again.

I find that it actually helps me for the next days challenge. On days like that I would do the recovery but I would also go to the gym as well to make sure I had a good calorie burn
  • i never skipped cardio recovery.... it is the most relaxing workout period. It helps you get thru the insane workouts the rest of the week i don't recommend skipping it its definately worth it to your body

I liked it. My muscles would get tight and the slow stretching would help keep them loose. It also helped when I was sore. It was also a shorter workout. I'd use the extra time to do work around the house. Hauling the shop vac around the house and doing all the floors and windows burned enough calories to make up the difference.

Your body needs the recovery to see the full benefits of doing insanity, although I find the cardio recovery pretty tough still; sitting in those squats and lunges! killer! I have to take rests still. My HRM doesn't show many cals burnt but I'm still sweating & working my muscles.

Your body needs the recovery. I would not suggest skipping it.

No, don't skip it. It's a nice change up from all the pain you put your body through
