Kris, I agree that hot dog casserole does sound yummy, but I'm not sure it's very low calorie! We'll see once I get it made.

    Hey ladies!

I'll miss you both Verda and Tamm! But I WILL see you on the next challenge!

I did Walk away the pounds yesterday instead of weights... but I made up for it by doing weights and treadmill today. I'm pushing it out!

Gotta study and prepare for tomorrow, sorry my messages are so brief! You are all in my thoughts!

Lauryn- BRAVES??? REALLY? LOL I live in STL.... Home of the Cardinals!

Very busy day today! Got all my final papers for my cruise. April 24th! YEA!!!! Changed my swimming days from MWF to TTH sometime on the weekend. The gym has classes on MW so they chase me out of the pool. DARN!
    Have a great nite everyone!

    Hey Ladies!

Glad to see alot of you still hanging in! Good luck on the next 6 weeks.

I am bowing out of the challenge. I really have not been present and am just not a provider of support for anyone right now. I need the support but cant give it back.

I am heading back to weight watchers and have purchased Turbo Jam. I will be kicking it into high gear. Once I can get on a routine with work, kid/husband time, workout time and good sleep then I will do more than lurk!

Good luck to all of you! I wish you enormous amounts of success!:flowerforyou:

Amy dear, it's okay if you can't offer anything to others right now. There is enough love and motivation for everyone, even if what you need is just to RECEIVE it! Please re-consider

Tamm & Verda, keep it going and we're here!!

Cathy, I completely understand. This has been my pattern, too. We can do this!

Kristin, I'm glad to hear you're getting your cals in. I was thinking the same thing

Lauryn, so what did you have for supper after all?

My day was good-bad. There was a cookie incident, but otherwise I had:
1 slice of toast w/ almond butter & 1/2 a banana plus 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese for breakfast,
some brown rice sushi for lunch (and those darned cookies - UGH!) plus some celery,
then I had quinoa, corn & tofu with home-made (very healthy) spicy peanut sauce wrapped in steamed kale and some walnuts as well.
I did a BodyPump class and I've got Pump in the morning. Need to get to bed though - EARLY morning for the gym!

Rhiannon - Pump two days in a row!?! I'm not sure I could do that. Impressive

Tamm, Amy (PDX) - We will miss you, but totally understandable.

Sandy - I've been thinking about getting into swimming as our gym has a pool. Any suggestions for a newbie?

Tiff - Keep up the great work

Cathy - Great job on the water. I know for me when I start eating incorrectly, it's hard to kick it back into gear. But I know you will!!!

Lauryn - Great job on the water. Slow and steady wins the race. We are happy to have you back.

Verda - Hope those meds get themselves straight soon.

B - Alright B. Let's get this challenge rockin'! Summer is a comin'! I'm gonna want to see some new posts of your white bathing suit with all your great success.

Amylou - You world traveler you. This will definitely be a "challenge" for you but I haven o doubt you can do it.

Amy (baha) - New baby is definitely a great incentive goal. You can do it!

Kristin - As always, thanks for keeping us straight

amyp - great job on the last weight loss. gear up for the next!!!

Whomever I might have missed, sorry

As for me today, no time for gym, but going to try and get some running in. Doing pretty good with food for the past three days. But the weekend is coming, so needing to stay focused. You guys will definitely help me out!!!

    Morning girls ....

Kristin--- awww thank you girl ... we can DO THIS ! .... im hoping for once to push myself and make my goal of 10 lbs lol .... and trust me .... I was so not ready when wyatt was only 7 months old .... lol ..... i woulda sworn to you that wyatt would be an only child hahahah ! but different things happening in our family jus caused me to want to have just one more!

B- where are you girl ?!?! ... lol .... i miss you lol but i totally get that your busy !!!!! keep up the great work girl !

Amy (lou)- Woohoo for maintaining .. way better than gaining ! wow you have a lot of functions ! yay for graduation !!! .... ill be thinking of you during this exciting but stressful time !

Verda--- im sure with all the working out you do ... its frustrating when your body doesnt want to cooperate .... heres to hoping in six weeks ... ur body will be balancing out those hormones and medications ....

Sandy -- So glad its beautiful weather at home .... sucks that the days they do classes they try to run you out of the pool though !!! glad you got it changed !

Tiff-- WE can do this 10 lbs ! ..... Thats my goal too ! lets work it out ! congrats on the great work out ! i walked away the lbs lol ... day before yesterday !

Tamm-- will miss you ! see you on the next challenge !

Lorna-- good for you ! sometimes we need a kick in the right direction... thank you so much for your comforting words ! a new baby is definately the best incentive ! esp. since my husband had a change of heart... he was against having another one for so long !

Cathy-- i have so many days like that too ! where i can keep a certain part of the day in check and the rest of it goes downhill ! LOL .... we can get through it together ! ..... :flowerforyou:

Laurynn-- (HUGS) :flowerforyou: Im so proud of you for working so hard despite the divorce and being a mom! i know how tough just regular old days of mommyhood can be for weight loss.... but we can push thru ! Thanks for all your kind words.... that sounds amazing... i have alot of extra to get off.... so i want to keep on losing it during my pregnancy and keep on walking .... and i have about SIX pregnancy workouts that i switched to doing when i got pregnant with my son .... kept my weight gain at a minimal .... but i could have tried a lot harder ! ... so thats my goal... keep up with my weight watcher points ! ... and continue losing and who knows ... i may end up smaller at the end of this pregnancy then ive been in YEARS !

rhiannon-- yay for being down the .4.... always nice to see SOME kind of loss each day ! lol ... cookie incident? lol .. sounds like something that would happen to me lol ! .... but your day sounded great minus that ! so way to go !!! good luck with your Pump class today!

Amy(pdx) ... aww girl please dont quit because of that ! i mean if your going through alot and just cant be around and you wanna sit this one out then thats up to you ... but not because you cant support us the way you need supporting ! IF YOU NEED THE SUPPORT then stay ! we dont give it to get it back ! .... xoxoxo ...

    AFM:
well im back down this morning to what i weighed in the other morning at 264..... so yay ! i hate when you weigh in and you go up immediately ! ugh ! ... but im going to work hard this week to get down some of the 10 ..... cant wait to be in the 250's ....

Yesterday i cleaned my entire office (future baby #2 bedroom) haha .... wow had i collected a lot of stuff ....... GEEZ ! it piles up from no-where lol ! but its all clean and i feel like i can focus on exercising when my house feels alot more de-junked !

    morning...

woke with a headache again. found out the pollen count is off the charts. that as DH is leaving tells me the guy said the red line goes way up off the meter. so with my windows open i am getting it in the house. i won't turn on my air yet, can't afford to. so have to dust again today and vacuum again.
he better get a paycheck from the new company today. i have to pay my taxed today. they said nothing about a hold back. he hasn't called me yet. the girls are just getting to the office now anyway.

B - my only caution is to make sure that you are getting enough protein (much more dedicated effort necessary as a vegetarian) and that you do NOT fall into the fake meat trap. Store-bought veggie burgers, veggie cold cuts, veggie ground... it's horribly unhealthy. So many people think just because it's vegetarian it's healthy. Unfortunately, it's very easy to gain weight as a vegetarian because many people go about it the wrong way and end up replacing meat with more grain in their diets. Prioritizing complete proteins like eggs, beans/lentils/rice combination, quinoa, whey protein isolate as well as other good sources of protein like hemp hearts (shelled hemp seeds) will help your body get what it needs. Also (I have to say it), since your goal with being vegetarian for a month is to release your tendancy for red meat and to cleanse your body, would you consider maintaining fish in your diet? Even just a couple of servings a week would really help your protein and EFA consumption. Another thing to consider is that if you currently use skim milk, switch to 1% if you are keeping a vegetarian diet. This will ensure you are still getting CLA (conjugated linoleic acid - a very important fat). My personal belief is that if you want to cleanse your body, making sure that you eat food in its most natural state, avoiding all refined flours (even the whole, organic ones), sugars and processed soy (it's a mineral-blocker once it's refined past the bean), drinking lots of water and doing some yoga (many postures massage tissues that allow toxins to be released and expelled) will go a LONG way. Just be diligent because I've seen so many vegetarian mishaps nutritionally and it can destroy your physique goals

Well, I haven't planned my meals for the day but so far it has looked like this:

walnuts, almonds & raisins, 1 tangerine, 2 slices organic roast turkey deli meat (no fillers, sugars etc)
quinoa & steamed kale w/ basil pesto

I think I'll whip up a protein shake after Ava's gymnastics and I'm not sure what we'll have for supper.

BodyPump was so great this morning. The group fitness studio faces East and the whole back wall (instructor's wall) is a wall of windows so we get to watch the sun rise over the harbour. Pretty good way to start the day!

Today was a great day! Two others and myself took 22 kids to a Cardinals baseball game. We lost but it was so much fun. Maybe 6 of the students had ever been to a game. I even did really good at the game. No nachos, couldn't have beer (school event), did have a burger, no junk on it, and a diet coke. Even sucked down a bunch of water during the day. Still have just a few glass to go to get to 80 oz..

lorna- Definitely get goggles! There are also swim mits and short fins. They help pull through the water and with resistance. I try to vary my strokes and mix in running the laps or doing lunges through the water. I also have a kick board, so sometimes i just kick or put it under my feet, lay on my back, and pull myself through the water. I just try to keep it varied so that i don't get bored. I try to go 45 minutes. I try to swim 3 times a week. I have tried to lift or run on the tread mill before hand but I get to tired or rather bone weary.

I have to run now so high everyone and take care.

    good morning ladies....

yesterday went well. eating was off in the afternoon, but, kicked it back in gear by late afternoon/evening.
my blood sugar was very high this morning. this could be the cause of the headaches. will be keeping an eye on that. may be switching back to the carb counting. right now i am trying to stick to calories.
going to work in the garden weeding today. might get the weed eating done on the yards too. get some gas and maybe mow.

rhiannon - I rarely drink any milk at all, I DO NOT eat sea food, I drink a protein shake once a day for protein. I also have vitamin supplements. And I dont know any yoga at all. But I have def. listened to what you have to say! I will pay part. attention to the suggested items. I bought a book yesterday by a Nava Atlas, I got her "The Vegetarian 5-Ingredient Gourmet" I have been looking and have already pick out a few things I cant wait to try after going to the grocery store. I was going to do RAW (<this crazy vegan book I found) but I was too frightened by the picture of the author! I was also going to get another Nava Atlas book, but this one seemed to hold more recipes and really be for someone who has less cooking experience. Gratz on your loss by the way!

AMY!!!! -Gosh I have missed talking to you soooo much! I cant wait to get back on here more, I am hoping after this weekend I will be able to keep up more again, God I MISS the gym soooooo much, I am DEF going tonight, NO MATTER WHAT!!! No Excuses! How have you been?! I love the picture! And I am going Vegetarian, not vegan, I guess there is a very intense difference between the two, lol. But its w/e for me! YOU CAN GET TO THE 250's!!!!

LULA! - Loved your attitude! LETS kICK THIS CHALLENGE'S BUTT!!!! And that is a great idea! After this challenge I will be going to Sea Base actually so it would be perfect timing for updated pictures of me in the white bathing suit! How have you been!? STAY FOCUSED THIS WEEKEND!!!

K I dont have anymore time :( But I do love all of you! and I miss all of you soo much! *HUGS*

Oh and I am on day 2 of being vegetarian and I havent had a fresh veggie so far! :( I have had Terra exotic vegetable chips.. but that is is... gahhhhh I want a plethora of fresh veggies right now, or at least some baked tofu!

Fair enough B  Here's an article you may be interested in regarding the raw thing. http://www.stumptuous.com/the-raw-vs-the-cooked Also, since CLA is primarily found in non-skim dairy, lamb and beef you should take a CLA supplement if you're not eating those foods. Actually, CLA has been touted for its weight-loss association because, like all EFAs, this fatty acid makes everything work properly! There is another book called Rebar Modern Food (actually written by some women here in my city who own an incredible vegetarian restaurant. I ADORE this cookbook: http://www.amazon.com/Rebar-Audrey-Alsterburg-Wanda-Urbanowicz/dp/0968862306/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1271431888&sr=8-1

Cathy, sounds like the day is off to a good start!

We went to look at a suite last night. For those of you who don't know, we live in the most expensive city in Canada and if you didn't buy a house here 10+ years ago, you probably live in a small suite like we do  Our place is 620 sq ft and we have a little outdoor terrace and access to a shared and very public yard. We adore it though, and despite its small size, if it had 2 full bedrooms rather than 1.5, we would stay here a long time. Also, this is a very pet-unfriendly city and rentals that allow pets, let alone large dogs like ours, are almost impossible. But yesterday we visited a place in a different neighbourhood (we're in our 1st choice spot now, and this other one is our second or third choice) but it's still a block from the ocean (as we are now), it has 2 good-sized bedrooms, a larger kitchen than ours, laundry in-suite, and a very good-sized (for this city) yard that is private to the suite. The landlord seems good and he's okay with our dog AND it's only $200 a month more than we're paying. It's about 1000 sq ft so definitely more space. Anyway, he thinks we'll be able to know today whether we're accepted as tenants and if so, we get the place for May 1st. We've been looking around for a couple of years for a place we're willing to move to and with this being the home I've lived in the longest in my life (7 years) and having had both my babies here it will be tough to leave to the unknown if we do get this place. So, I'm all nerves today. Also got my group ex cert package in the mail so time to get reading on that. My friend at the gym said that she would expect to track me for teaching pump, step and maybe combat. There are several steps before that though! Lots of emotions for me! And yesterday was a PERFECT food & work-out & water day. YAY!

    More personals soon!!

Unofficial Friday weigh in for me. I'm up 0.4 lbs.
It's because I did some binging last night for no apparent reason.
Isolated incident, I think. If not, I'll work on it.
I woke up at 2am with a tummy ache from the foods.
I was not feeling well obviously but GLAD my body was screaming STOP THIS OR I'LL MAKE YOU PAY WITH TUMMY PAIN!!
    =)

Plan to workout today after work. I think it's been over a week since I've been to the gym.
Busy work schedule, busy life schedule. Gotta make room for the gym!!!

Hiya Sixers...I just wanted to stop in and tell you all good luck on the new challenge. I'm going to pass on this challenge. I have too much going on in my life right now. My husband and I will probably split up - so I have a lot of decisions to make, a lot of changes coming. It's just hard since I'm also trying to focus on finishing school right now. I'll still be working on my eating and exercising though (need an outlet for all the stress). Hopefully I can jump back in next challenge. Have a good one.

Not sure how I should track anything as I am gaining and not losing. But I will like to keep up and try and stay healthy, and have a wonderful support group once I have the baby!

Dropping my name from the list....
