    welcome Amy. the best thing you can do here is start using the social aspects of the site. find like-minded people, funny people, people knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition, etc. and start adding them to your friends list. oftentimes, the best support you'll get here is that support you get from your friends posting on your wall, or while exchanging private mails.

    take the time to fill out your profile. the more information you provide about yourself and your goals, the easier it will be for like-minded people to find you and send you friend requests.

    be careful though... the social aspect can get a bit addicting. :wink:
