...I may have accidently just signed up for a half marathon.

    I can't run.

    :noway:

Oh FAB!! Me too!! Haha!! And I have Bursitis at the mo so I can't even train!! AGHHHH!!!

Mimi that sounds amazing!!! Do you have to be a member of Virgin to go to a class? I thought there would be a lot of classes in London but I can only find Virgin?!!

T West! Well done on your mamouth gym seshes!! How is the tum?

Hey everyone, hope you're all ok?

The 1/2 marathon is the Royal Parks Half Marathon (http://www.royalparkshalf.com/) and my work are entering a team. A couple of friend of mine have run marathons and half marathons before and have been banging on at me for ages to do some running with them. Anyway, they asked me to join the team a couple of weeks ago, and I said no. I don't know what happened! I swear someone hypnotised me or something! There was mention of being able to eat loads of pasta.....

....so here we are. I'm going to have to start a training programme ASAP! I've got just under 6 months.

On the plus side this might be what I need to help get my weekends under control...can't run with a hangover or food baby!

Thanks for the best wishes Tanya - I think I'll be on here needing support quite a lot. I literally can't run. At least I'm fitter than I was a year ago!

Hey Plantpot - that meal sounds amazing! Any tips on where to start with the running?

Carrie - good luck with the rest of your week. You can do it!

Mimi - that Zumba class sounds amazing. Hope you keep that good feeling for the rest of the week!

Lee - that's an AMAZING calorie burn. I'm lucky if I can get 700 in one go!

Sparkle - sorry to hear about the Bursitis. When in your half marathon?? Glad to hear that I'm not the only crazy one.

Hope all the rest of you are ok too...sounds like you're all doing really well. Keep it up!

    Good morning UKers!

In a fantastic mood this morning as I have been to the gym twice already this week and going again tonight for a 45 minute spinning class which burns about 750 cals:love: !!!

Sparklepants - Thank you!! I am working double hard now as I realised I have 10 silly weeks till my holiday to get into shape! The tum has been ok recently (touch wood) I have been taking these digestive enzyme tablets after my 3 meals which seem to be helping the bloatiness. Hope you are ok?

How is everyones day so far? What's for lunch?!

Keep up the good work everyone!:drinker:

Hi, I got a training program from this below website:

    http://running.about.com/od/racetraining/a/basichalf.htm

I kept up with the training program and also did aerobics and similar classes to improve my general fitness in prep for the run.

Its also good for general tips:

    http://running.about.com/od/runningforbeginners/u/Beginners.htm

There are some really good websites to map your runs if you a planning to go on the roads, i.e:

    http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

The good thing about road running is it saves time, as I find the gym ends up really eating into my evening. I will see how I get on with the 10k but may consider entering a half marathon as I found it really good to work towards a goal, it really kept me focused!!

Good luck with your training. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

    Gooooooood Afternoooon Everyone!

Looks like a lot of us are in a VERY good mood today! Must be something in the air! We are all high on life...

Im in a very good mood today - thank god i went to the gym last night! Your support finally got me down there.. and do you know what?!!... I had a great workout.. didnt burn as many cals as some of you do.. 1000+ seems a little daunting so ill stick with my 550ish cals burnt!

I got my graze box today so lots of little snack to have for the rest of the week.. some are more like treats so if i get serious cravings for something sweet i know where to turn... and NOT to the choccy box!!

 Tanya - WTG on your Spinning session... if i had the motivation to get my butt back into it i would because it was an AMAZING work out... i might even give it a go tonight.. get out my old card at the gym - take a look at the routine i used to do and spin my legs off like theres no tomorrow.

 Erika - Sounds like you've got yourself a good challenge to work towards! Im impressed because i cannot run for any longer than 15 mins at the moment without feeling like im going to DIE! Maybe i should quit the smoking as well.. its just hard to do too many things at once at the moment.. :grumble: Looads of pasta... god i miss the stuff! I like mine with lotsa cheese... hehe.. thats where i was going wrong i think..

 Lee - Good to see you back on the board.. well done for sticking with the gym.. honestly burning over 1000 cals is something i would love to do.. but i get very bord at the gym after 1 hour...!!

 Mimi - Glad you absolutely loved your ZUMBA session with Beto Perez!! Whoever he may be!! I checked out the pic of him.. and yes.. he is a cutie!

 Sparkle - I hope you dont mind me asking but what is Bursitis? x

T- Fab that the digestive enzymes are doing their thing! PS You already look great so you'll amaaaaaaaazing on hols with all this gyming it!! :drinker:

KP, of course I don't!! It's an inflamed Bursa, which is a little sack in your hip joint that's supposed to keep it moving smoothly, so bassically now it's inflamed it hurts like hell!! Just on anti inflamatory tablets and RESTING....yawn. Should be ok by weekend, have to go to physiotherapist though!! God knows how I'm going to do a half marathon?!! :indifferent:

I took my body fat & muscle mass measurements this morning, they're actually not too bad! Looking forward to seeing a change though! I did it last year and it felt SO GOOD when it changed so much!!

    Afternoon all!!!

Happy Humpday people!!! Wednesday is nearly over and done with and it's the w/end soon!!! :drinker: Hope you're all having a good day.

Hmm where to start, what to write....well, I have my Tae Kwon Do grading this Sat :noway: :noway: :noway: gong for my Yellow belt. While I've done the training, I'm still scared silly and nervous as hell as I'll be in the group that goes up 1st in front of those taking their very 1st grading (this is my 2nd grading & I was just as nervous and scared the 1st time around!!).

Katherine - yay for the graze box!! I ordered mine thanx to Mimi!! And I have an Aerobics class later - generally i've been good when it comes to food, some slip-ups, but nothing major-major

Tanya - I forgot about my Spin class last night :grumble: and they're booked all next Tue, but I still have Aerobics class tonight and TKD tomorrow.

Lady_C - some weeks are slower than others - you'll do it, don't give up!!

Mimi - glad your Zumba session was a blast!! Having been looking for classesi n my area, but so far, fitting them into my packed schedule hasn't been possible. Will keep trying tho for sure.

Enough from me for now, I'll probably post again later since I get weighed tonight @ Rosemary Conley class - I have a feeling I've stayed the same and my weighing scales ALWAYS lie  Soooooo TC folks, and b'bye for now.

  • Good afternoon everybody!!

Glad to hear everyone is OK.

I had a fab day yesterday in Marlow, I had fettucini alla carbonara followed by 1/2 a melting middle chocolate pudding with 1/2 a scoop of ice cream. It was about 1100 calories but I had earned them and it was worth it!

I have been to the gym today, I did Body Balance and am going back later to do freestyle step! I will miss my morning gym sessions when I am back at school. :-(

Katherine - well done for getting back to the gym! It will be much easier to keep it up now!

Katherine & Kendra - Graze boxes are fab! I get them all the time now and if anyone wants one courtesy of me feel free - 8G9ZLM7, just use this code at graze.com. I love how you can get little chocolate treats but are low on calories!

Kendra - thanks for the motivation, it is difficult. Good luck with your grading!

Erika - I cannot believe you are doing a half marathon!! That is amazing, good luck!

Mimi - your Zumba win sounded amazing!

    Have a good afternoon everyone.

  • Hey guys!

I've been missing for a few weeks.... it's because I had a bad easter and was so ashamed of myself I couldn't bare to log in! I think back and really, it wasn't that bad, but I felt that I kept failing cause I kept ruining a good day by having chocolate... damn!

Buuuuut I've been back at my parents for the past few days, thought I'd visit since I've still got a week off university! I've exercised everyday since Monday and have not touched chocolate! I feel good :) ooh! and I'm back on the Lateral Thigh Trainer (thanks to Mel Gibson updates!), burned 400 in just 30 minutes last night, excellent :)

Hope everyone else is doing well! I'm off to Bangor with a friend today... we're eating in Varsity. Anyone know any semi-healthy meals I can eat in Varsity?

I'm sooooo tired today!! Shouldn't drink on a school night!!!!!

Hope you all have a fab day
  • Afternoon all!

I hope you are all well, I have had a bit of a crap morning. I weighed myself and was up to 53kg. :-( I have not logged it though as it is not my weigh in day. BUT I went to the gym, did Body Step, came home, had a hot bath and am feeling a little better. I am going to a friends for dinner tonight and am going to relax and not worry about calories too much, I will probably have a couple of glasses of wine too!

Have a good day everybody, Clara xx

    Hey everyone,

Did the first day of couch to 5k yesterday....and i didn't die! :noway:

    It's a start!

Clara - don't worry about your weigh in. It's probably excess sodium from your meal out.

KP - Be nice, but just say you don't want one. Good luck!

Cor blimey, it's an absolute scorcher in WA12 today! Went out for yet another walk on my lunch and felt the sun burning a hole in my back! It should be scorching in Warrington this weekend, so I think me and the missus are going out to Walton Gardens for a few hours, have a bit to eat, wander around the zoo and play a bit of pitch and putt golf!

Doing okay with the food and exercise. Got a right sweat on when I went Skiing last night, must have burnt a few cals but suffered a slight injury after falling from the top of a slope and landing right on my back at the bottom. :frown: Giving me some jip at the moment but I'll live!

Hope everyone is doing okay!

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday ?

Kendra - Good luck with your grading, and I hope the scales were kind last night

Katherine - I hope you resisted those cakes  or you'll get your a** kicked again by Mimi !

Caryl - WTG on coming back, don't feel ashamed, we've all been there at some point

Erika - Congratulations on the supreme effort of Couch to 5k - that's amazing :drinker:

Lee - It was a beautiful day down South as well, but that volcano ash is hiding the sun at the moment. :ohwell:
    its still warm though !

Having quite a good week, the scales showed another 1lb lost which makes that a stone in 6 weeks.
Still feels really odd being able to eat this much and lose weight. Really pissed that I have spent countless years living on precious little thinking I would lose. When all the time all I had to do was bloody eat !! :grumble:
    okay better now
take care & have a good day

Sorry I haven't posted already today but I feel awful - totally awful. I have glands the size of tennis balls!!! I woke up this morning and couldn't breathe they were so swollen, randomly over night?!

Now I have the biggest headache you can imagine, and my glands are still killing me. I couldn't even eat my frigging lunch :frown: !

Hope I feel better tomorrow, I have a bloody wedding on Saturday!

Hi everybody, hope you are all well!!

    Friday tomorrow!!! Yeahh!!!!

I am going to try and be really good this weekend. Am getting very bored of not seeing the scales move. I havent lost for a few weeks now!!!

Went to Boots at lunch looking for a little motivation, got weighed on there clever scales that do your BMI and Body Fat etc. So, although I am delighted to be under 11 stone for the first time in a long time, as I am 5.4 I am still officially overwieght,  by about 4 lbs. My body fat was 35.8% which is pretty high :grumble: . So my aim to going to be to go again same time next month and work on getting back into the healthy weight range and reduce my body fat!!

Think I am doing my usual of getting to a certain weight i.e below 11 and thinking I can ease off, then before I know it a couple of lbs have come on and I'm back over 11. Need to try and keep going!!

Tanya - Hope you are feeling better soon. :flowerforyou:

Chrispy - Well done on you loss!!

Erika - Good work with the coach to 5k!!!

Enjoy the rest of the day everybody, I'm planning to do aerobics followed by aqua aerobics, Thursday is my new aerobics night, planning to go with my bridesmaids every thursday until the wedding!!! Well thats the plan!!! Ha

    Afternoon all

hope everyone is well. Well amazed i lost another pound this week as on friday on the way to norwich at 1am got a large double cheesebeurger meal and went to pizza hut with a mate before the football on tuesday but i'm not complaining.

Nearly died on the way to teh game when the train doors i was leaning against started to open whilst the train was moving between west ham and stratford station, it had opened about a foot and if the blokes in front of me hadn't noticed it would have opened more and that could have been messy :ohwell:

Off to a quiz night tonight, so have a great evening and weekend

    Evening all!!

It's been a hectic Thursday - y'know, one of those days when you have far too much to do and not enough time to do it, yet time still drags by  I never said I made sense

Weight-wise I lost 0.5lbs this week - which is better than none, but not the 1lb I was hoping for. BUT better off than on.

Cheers all for the luck and good wishes for my TKD grading - had a class earlier and I sucked BIG time  As my instructor told me, I'm thinking about it too much and if didn't think I was good enough or ready then he wouldn't have put me forward to it :noway: :noway: :ohwell:

That's damn good advice!! Thankfully in our office the cakes n stuff are usually in the kitchen and since we take turns to make coffee for each other, I only had to go into the kitchen twice!! I was good btw, didn't succumb.:drinker:

    Sparkle - Hiya *waves*

Clara - have a fab evening!! Sometimes you just need to forget counting calories and watching what you eat

Erika - I'm waiting for warmer weather before I start something like that  though given my mad schedule of stuff at teh moment, it may just be wistful thinking!! Good luck with it though, will be thinking of you x

Lee - glad you're have fab time skiing - something on my to-do list for life x

Karen - WTG!!! :flowerforyou: A stone in 6 weeks is fantastic

Tanya - awwww take it easy *hugs* and get well soon :flowerforyou:

Plantpot - don't give up!! We're here for you!!!

Paul - OMG with the train :noway: :noway: :noway: glad you survived and WTG on the weight-loss. Have fun @ the quiz.

Hmm I think i've gone on enough for now, so, until the next time, TC folks & b'bye for now

  • Morning Folks - back from the buisness trip of two days and amazed that I kept reasonably to the cals - Had a bit of a laspe last night and had a few cheeky wines and one beer !!! honestly :drinker:

Back to norm today and in the office after a bugger of a trip in through roadworks - plenty of pot holes here in oxfordshire:sad:

Weekend coming and thats when I find it really hard - normally would have a take away sat and settle down with the wife - is britain got talent back on:yawn: - but little does she know that I am going to Sainsburys on way home and going to surprise her with a helathy fish meal on the night.

You take care out there and good luck with the temptations of the wekend - how its sunny - more probably there will be an ash fall around about mid day::glasses:

3lb off - yay! Have been very good this week to try and kick start the weight loss so am pleased. A few more to go tho!!

Am hoping the weather stays good as hoping to do some more gardening. I too find the week ends hard if I haven't planned anything as I pick when I am bored and by picking I mean I can demolish shed loads !! Kids all out tomorrow doing their own thing or with their Dad so temptation will be strong.
Manta to self ......nothing tastes as good as being slim feels!!
