I had several messages from haters today about my weight loss these last 8 months. I was asked if I starved myself or what pills I used to lose weight. I used hardwork and proper nutrition thats all I did - really!
Everyone has to believe that losing weight can be fun if you use a great support team like we have here in Myfitnesspal. Additionally you must use a program you love doing!
Add me if I can help you lose weight or motivate/support your fitness goals!
Let the haters talk because they motivate me!!

Sherman - Sorry to hear about getting such negative messages from people. I guess that is just the way it is. Congrats on your successful journey to date. I agree with you that losing weight for me has been pretty straight-forward since joining MFP. Proper diet (e.g., eat no more than my daily target allows) and exercise to both shed additional lbs and get in better shape.0

Well put my friend...
I get this ALL THE TIME!!
The top question I'm asked is "What's your secret?" LOL!!
The secret is HARD WORK and DISCIPLINE!! LOL!
Good work, sir! Keep grinding!0 -

Some people don't want to take the time to educate themselves on nutrition or do the hard work it takes to make a difference. They make up excuses why they cant lose fat or bulk up. They diet for 2 days and quit because they didn't lose 10lbs. It's just jealousy. You've done what they don't have the courage or ambition to do. Congratulations on your success!! :drinker:0

Thank you all for the incredible support, you have motivated me to do another 50 pushups! Boom!0

Well, that's kind of rude.
Just ignore them... they're either jealous or ignorant (or both).
I think you look great! Keep it up!0 -
Wow you have done an awesome job, ignore the haters and be proud!!!!!
I still have a long ways to go but as I have been losing between 2-5 lbs a week I keep getting negative comments...I don't know what they expect, seriously... I've gone from eating utter junk and sitting on my butt most of the time to eating clean and moving and moving and moving!!!0 -
Congrats on your sucess Lesley!0

I feel you, I had to put on my profile that I don't have any secrets to weight loss! What you see in my food and exercise diary is what I'm doing!
I think some people just don't want to believe that in order to lose weight they have to learn to control their diet and exercise. It really is that simple.0 -
I dont understand why they think its impossible to shed 36 lbs & gain muscle in 8 months. Its not like you did it in 3! Theyre crazy, dont waste your energy even explaining to ignorant haters. Congrats!0

Great job and great quote.
I'm going to try and post my results since August here this weekend. I wouldn't have guessed anyone would get that kind of reaction. Oh well, it's the internet.
I saw your success post earlier and noticed how similar it was to mine. I lost 30 pounds in the first 90 days and am now own 42 pounds in in about 155 days having lost 9 inches off my waist. I'm finally starting to hit a plateau but so be it as long as strength gains continue and waist trim contines.
I'm seeing the doctor next week and hope I get the same result of no longer being in danger of having to take medicine. Hopefully I will be out of all those "borderline" qualifications.
Keep up the great work.0 -

was just thinking the same thing.0 -
But did you cheat AND lie? Jk
Dont let peeps get your riled up. Haters are going to....0 -
Always shake off the haters!!! Be proud of everything you've done. This was never about anyone but YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
-
haters gonna hate brah. well done!!!0
-
However you did it, it was apparently the right way for YOU! Congrats, and screw them0

People always seem to think that there has to be something OTHER than diet, exercise, will power and discipline to be successful. Probably because those would require effort, and they'd rather take a magic pill.0
-
people suck, i'm really sorry they have done this, i know how much it would upset me0
-
Its terrible that you are getting abuse from people when you doing well...keep up your good work and use it as inspiration. They will stay how they are as it takes true determination, work and pure hard graft to achieve a goal!
Stay positive and keep strong!0 -
Awesome job. Don't listen to the haters.
Like you all I've done is work out, watch the calories and have a couple of cheat days from time to time

overweight people can be mean ..it is because they're so unhappy being stuck in a fat suit. I am that way..find i'm much nicer and kinder to the world when i look my best. I realize that and keep my fat monster at bay. Those poor fatties are just jealous. Congrats on your loss and new found way of life. I find it inspiring.0

Ugh I feel you...I actually had someone at work ask me which diet pills (Yes, plural) I was on.
I told them it was the cook at home and Gold's Gym pill.
Like someone who had a blood pressure of 157/131 could even handle a diet pill. e.e0 -
People are like that, it's a shame.
That's the thing about weight loss though...... you get the results you get from the work that you do.0 -
You are doing great; ignore the hate. I lost 95 pounds in 10 months through major portion control (no more starving children in the world because of me) and tons of exercise. Most people are upset that I can't give them a magic elixer but you might be surprised by the ones that you don't even know you have motivated. Keep up the great work!0
-
You look amazing! I love how you use negative comments for motivation! We should all do that!!!!0

I kinda did. Well, it was 35 pounds and about 4 months. lol. I'm going to post my story with before/after pics when I reach my goal weight which should be in a week or two.
People think I'm doing something drastic or magical to get these kind of results. When I tell them what I did, people seem almost disappointed. They seem mildly curious about the cool tech of MFP but that's about all. I had one guy actually say to me, "So you're basically counting calories and working out? Ugh... yuck."
For me it hasn't been that difficult. I enjoy working out. I haven't been starving myself, just making necessary choices to stay under my goal. I wish I had done this years ago.0
