    I love grapefruit I eat it because, I like it never thought it would make me lose weight. I miss the evil part, why is it evil ?I eat them least 3 times a week.

    The evil part:

    It's a tongue in cheek article.
    But here's the allegation of why it is so very very bad:

    . It’s plotting to murder you.
    The compounds in grapefruit inhibit an enzyme in the intestine from metabolizing certain substances. These substances include drugs that regulate blood pressure (Nitrendipine), high cholesterol (Lipitor), heart arrhythmia (Cordarone), and depression (Zoloft). If you eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice within three days of taking such drugs, your body fails to process the medications as it should, and you can experience side effects resulting from higher levels of the drug in your system. The bottom line? Grapefruit is trying to kill us.

    why are you looking to food as a fat burner exercise is the fat burner, food is fuel and grapefruits are good fuel. i'd like to see the person who got fat by eating grapefruits

    ...but I like grapefruit. I wouldn't call it evil, but if you don't like it then don't eat. I like it so I will continue to eat it.

    ^ This. I enjoy grapefruit. I didn't always, but I do now. If you don't like it, that's cool too, but there's no need to be hateful about it.

    Ruby red grapefruit is my all-time favorite fruit! :love: Poo to those who talk trash on my grapefruit! :tongue:

    (It DOES interact with a bazillion meds though, so clear it with your pharmacist before pigging out on it.)

    The gist of the article is corerct. I am on BP meds, and my doctor told me that I cannot eat grapefruit nor its juice as each would interfere with my medication. :cry:

    But the bear thing sounds linteresting. :wink:

    No food has magical fat burning qualities period. Maintaining a caloric deficit over a period of time has scientific fat burning qualities though.

    What about the magical smurf berry?
