I thinking, what steps can I take to make myself healthy and my mind happy.
I hurt my knee badly on a fantastic machine at the Y. But I pushed it too far as though I were on the Biggest Loser. I didn't learn much cause then I went out and walked around a theme park on crutches for two days and now have severe tenonitis in my right arm.
So what have I learned?
Be gentle. I kept pushing myself harder and harder. "No pain, not gain!" I heard Jillian say. "Push!
BS. Now I am gonna leave the Jillian Michael's where she belongs.
1. Exercise however I can till I heal.
2. Plan my food.
3. Write it down.
4. Encourage others on this site.
Looking for a good group that really wants to keep in touch and seriously pledge to stick to their plan. thanks, kc

Hey Barbie! i've missed you.
hey Seminole, You have been on my mind.
I came down with a mild cold while Jose was in Mexico. I slept and took care of the kids.
Then I went back to the gym and upped the tension to 20 like and idiot. The next day I could barely walk and it got worse each day.l I spent a worthless week at Kaiser getting xrays where I've never heard from my doctor yet. I tape my knee up with duct tape and that really helps.
Then I took the kids to Six Flags on crutches. It felt so good to be outdoors since all the rain. Went back the next day and over did it. But can't say I'm too sorry cause I just had to get out of the house and into the sunshine.
I have been unable to type because of my wrist. But I am finally able to put it to a little use without too much pain.
I have been eating Vegan and trying it out for my health only. I have learned a lot over these past 4 weeks.
I ran out and bought a bunch of pretend soy products only to have to dump 50 bucks in the trash because I found out its not good for you. Now I eating fresh garden salad, Quiona (sp), beans and cooked veggies. I've decided if on occasion I want so meat, I'm gonna eat it. But my whole point of this to to eat low fat, get the weight off, and control this diabetes. I can really use prayers.
I am so glad for the people on this site. What a joy to get on a speak to to others who are trying to get healthy.
Yes ivykivy, one day at a time. So, my salad is made for tomorrow and Quiona (sp?) and beans. It's what I choose to eat. For tomorrow. God Bless you all, good night.

Have you done any reading about "Clean Eating".....there may be a thread on MFP and I know there's a website. It sounds like what you have settled on is clean eating which has fresh veggies, grains, lean proteins, and stays away from fake stuff and processed stuff. And, of course, asking God to direct your thinking and eating every day is a big help, too.
I wish you the best..... Barbie0 -
Hey all,
I wanted supportive friends and then I kinda took a powder. Sorry. My grandson Jake 6, got a horrible flu. He's been running temps of 102 to 105 for three days. Finally, he is doing well this aftenoon. I have not had much sleep. Especially last night. But am so happy that I got some really good advice from a few people who are diabetic and dealing with eating grains. I have been following their advice for 2 days and my sugars are great. That is such a relief. The problem for me always comes when I start exercising. How to eat for energy but not too much that my sugars go to high or low.
Barbie,
I went on McDougall site. He advises starch based low fat diet.
It was kind of hard for me to get it throgh my head, but with the help of some super people on that site, I am finally eating clean.
Saturday, I was so discouraged with blood sugars going crazy and all, I ate regular food. Sunday I woke up and knew in my heart that God wants me on this plan. And now I'm doing it happily. And now I know what to do. I am eating much more garden salad, and 1/2 cup of grain and 1/2 cup of beans These past two days have been great. I'm feeling like I'm where God's always wanted me to be.
Best of all, no cravings as long as I'm fat free. Weird, but it works. kc0
