How often do you weigh yourself?

Hi I weigh myself once a week on a Wednesday first thing before I have my breakfast. It can get too stressful if you do it every day because your weight does change from day to day:bigsmile:0

I weigh every day and I wait until a loss shows for at least two days straight before logging it.0

I have my official weigh in one a week, which is what I update on here & on my own personal record - but I weigh myself twice a day to keep an eye on how I'm doing!0

I weigh every other day usually. I try to always remember that fluid retention plays a role in how much I weigh on any given day and I don't record a loss in my journal until the same number pops up consistently for a few days. I don't fret too much over what the scale says otherwise; I focus on how my pants fit or how I look in the mirror.0

Friday morning is my official weigh-in, but I'll weigh myself daily to satisfy curiosity.
Same here.0 -
I step on it twice a day, but only log when there's a loss.0

I weigh every morning because if I measured once a week I'd put too much emphasis on that one measure.
If I measure every day it bounces around a lot and I'm comfortable with that. If I went down I'm happy. If I went up I can console myself that maybe tomorrow - or later that day - will be better.
Weight bounces around a lot depending on lots of things. FOR ME (other people have the opposite reaction), the more often I weigh, the less I think and worry about it.0 -
No right or wrong answer here... If you are going to panic about the little ups and downs that happen from day to day, then I would only weigh yourself once a week. Me personally, I weigh myself every morning. I don't do it to to obsess over the weight. It just keeps me in check from day to day.0

I used to do it only once a week because I'd heard that it was better to do that so you don't get too preoccupied by natural fluctuations. But lately I've been trying every morning and I actually prefer that. I find it helps to see those fluctuations and how various things might affect them. But if you're the kind of person who is going to get depressed at every minor upswing, or get obsessive about it, then don't.
ETA: I downloaded an app for my phone called Libra and I record my daily weight on it. It calculates your trend and such, but my 'official' weigh in day for MFP is just once a week.0 -
I weigh in everyday but only do my measurements once per week. And, weighing yourself first thing in the morning is best. If not in the morning at least weight at the same time everyday.0

I step on the scale every morning, keeps me in check! :-)
Check my body fat about every few weeks to make sure it's also in check :-)

My wife and I weigh in twice a day (morning and evening). This includes a body fat number from the scale as well. We record all of this on a sheet in the bathroom. I log the morning weight and % body fat online.0

Every day, but I don't really care about the numbers. I just want to make sure I'm either not gaining for a few days in a row, or staying put for a week or more. If I do then I try to change something.0

It is great to weight all the time when you're losing..then it is not so great when you plateau. haha. You need to weigh to make sure you're heading in the right direction. But i'd say do it every week or two..and daily when you maintain.0

I log my weight on Wednesday morning, first thing. (Mondays are bad enough I don't want to do it then LOL) If I am curious, I will jump on the scale, but don't hold all your faith on that number! :-)0

I weigh myself every morning and record it in my weekly planner. My scale keeps me from going on an eating binge0
-
Every morning, helps me to remember during the day thatnI have a goal!0

once a week is fine...the only true fluctuation is water weight which is sometimes good to know... I weigh before and after so i can drink enough water so i dont dehydrate..the biggest thing to focus on is not how much you weigh but how you feel, look, how certain cloths fit..etc best measure0

Officially weigh myself every Sunday morning and log it but sometimes I weigh myself before and after I use the washroom for entertainment :smokin:0
-
I only record once a week (Monday morns) but I'll weigh myself most every morning, and every night just to see how my daily eating/activities may be affecting things.0
-
I do once a week, but the time in between kills me. I like to see a bigger drop at once then a bunch of little drops. I used to do the every day thing, but I got obsessed with it.0
-
Once every few days. I try to give myself time to make progress so I'm not discouraged.0
-
I try to weigh in once a week, but I definitely know how easy it is to want to weigh in more than once when the scales going down! (especially in the beginning). I usually weigh in twice a week.0
-
i weigh myself once a week as well. usually on tuesday after the weekend because sometimes i splurge when i go out and monday is my day to get back on track and ensure im working out.0
-
I try to weigh everyday.....keeps me motivated and keeps me knowing if I had a good day or not!!!0
-
I weigh myself every morning. I can fluctuate 2-3 lbs in a day so I like to track often. I don't worry about a gain as long as after one week it's still down.0
-
I agree. Weighing everyday is good. I think it keeps you focused better0

I weigh and log every time I go to the gym. Get changed into shorts and a t-shirt, weigh, workout, weigh, change again. It's routine, and it's just a number.
My attitude is that as long as there is a consistent downward trend, then it doesn't matter what the actual number says.0
